do i need one? look at all the rumors and stuff floating around him. there's just way too much smoke for something to not be going on.

there were also alot of rumors about jon gruden coming here. just because there's alot of smoke doesn't mean it's going to happen.

nope i dont want to be your buddy now. besides, outlaws don't have buddies. and i cant reveal my source, but hes very trustworthy.

Just to let you know, my uncle is the coach at Oscar Smith and he said Phillip Sims has no interest in Tennessee and that he will only be going on his visit there because Askew and to recruit for Bama. I just talked to him about an hour ago.

yeah I know. I just wanted to let the people here know what I had heard. not sayin he is commiting to us just passin a what I was told along. I am more worried about this seasons wins and losses on the field not so much the recruits that still have to play and refrain from injuries this year and arent contributing to UT now. Except Ambles since he is tryin to bring some more talent with him.

Rivals has Sims ranked as the #1 Pro-style QB. It was my understanding that other QBs outperformed Sims at the major camps.

On a few occasions, Rivals appeared to show a bit of favoritism to the 'Bama recruits even in the face of weaker camp performances or breakout efforts by others. (Something about a few Tide fans in Brentwood, TN).

My questions is:
Is Sims really that good? Is he really better than Bell, Scroggins, Heaps, Boisture and Jones? Or is #1 what some analysts outside of Nashville determined to attribute to him (with a possibility of personal bias)?

well you have 0 chance of pulling Rees, so Sims is then -1?

Until NSD, I wouldn't say there's 0 chance with anyone, especially in the case of ND recruits. They should do well this year considering their schedule. But, another losing season is not out of the question.

There is no doubt in my mind that Rivals shows favoritism to Bama recruits. No doubt. But with Sims, he's overrated, but not hugely. He's better than Scroggins and Jones and alot better than Boisture. But he is no Jake Heaps. Heaps is far and away the best QB in this class and if he was at Bama, he would be the #1 QB. I would have Heaps over Sims for sure and probably Bell. But Sims is #4 at worst...

I honestly think Bray has the most upside period. He has the frame and accuracy to do big things. Heaps is a twerp. Bray is rail thin but add some meat in his bone like C Pennington did and he will be great. Foot work and foot speed too.

Okay i would just like to know from you guys how you feel about the talent at qb in the 2010 recruiting class.

Do you feel that if Kiffin doesnt lure in Talent like Gray or Sims or Brunetti or Possibly Scroggins. That we can survive next year with Stephens at the helm. Because 2011 we will have a couple good recruits at qb. I believe if kiffin wants to build this program why not make stephens the starter. So when next year comes around he has that experience that we need. I think stephens has more talent then crompton? what about you guys?

If Kiffin can lure anyone of those players, Stephens will still be the starter. CLK in no way wants a true freshman to start at quarterback... 2010 has nothing to do with 2009. CLK will play whomever gives him the best chance to win this year.. he is not coaching this year looking to 2010.. he is coaching this year to win this year...

I'm hearing things about Sims from a couple of directions too. It seems Saban is the next coach in line to get "Kiffined" in recruiting. I'm not too high on Sims myself, but there is something to the rumors.....and what a statement it would make if the staff reeled him in.

I know that having a big time QB recruit can help in recruiting but stars don't count for a hill of beans when they get on the field. Colt mcCoy was a 2 or 3 star recruit, sam bradford was a 3 star, I think they turned out pretty good. Of course I would always take the 5 star QB over the 2 or 3 star any day of the week.
