Question For Doctors on here.

Need to look at the averages. How often does the OP have a spell and how much does he drive? I reckon that an obese, 40+ year old full time semi driver might statiscally have greater odds of stroking out while driving. Fat truckers aren't being banned from driving and they're on the road 40-50 hours per week. Still, OP should probably be on a bicycle.

I've been cleared to work & drive by my doctor.

The state of Tennessee are the ones who decided to take my license's.

So, My decision wasn't that hard to make.

With me being cleared to work if I had missed I would have been fired.

Also, The other guy who is dignosised with Syncope can probably back me on this. When I start to go I know. It's not like you just pass out.

Sure, I shouldn't have got behind the wheel & I probably never will again. But don't curse at me and tell me I'm ****ing dumb. I was a mile away from work.

I have syncope and your comment above makes no sense to me. If you have it, you pass out and no way you control it if that's what you're trying to say.

I got all the paperwork if you want to see them, Just post a email.

They told me today that once I recover from the injuries that I couldn't return to work until I see the company doctor for a physical or fit test. I already saw him once.

I've also been told that the State of Tennessee has a law where you can be terminated without a cause or something of that matter.

Did you go to a Doctor with a practice or one at a clinic? There are lots of crappy doctors out there. I hope your issue gets resolved and you're able to get back to work. In the mean time, please don't drive.

RT, if you just totalled your truck and your doctor cleared you to DRIVE and work you should seriously reconsider the doctor you are seeing. That seems completely insane and reckless to me from the standpoint of an MD. It's got to be borderline malpractice if not malpractice period. You've literally gotten no cause and no treatment plan for your condition. Have they even suggested something called a "Holter monitor" or "event monitor" for you to wear at home/work? They're completely noninvasive tests. You haven't mentioned it in this thread but your doctor probably should have referred you to a cardiologist by now, has that even been mentioned?

Tuesday, I was suppose to have test done by a radiologist. Something about a Tilt test and some other things.

Not sure if you have insurance worth a crap, but if all you can afford is seeing a nurse practitioner, a tilt test and other diagnostic testing won't be cheap.

Here's my predicament with that.

What job would hire a guy who passes out?

I just left a meeting with my Job and I have to see their doctor for a physical test to see if I'm fit to work.

I figured this was coming. They will probably say your not safe to be at work and require a clean bill of health before your let back in.

You should be able to file FMLA

Tennessee is a right to work state which basically means the company can end employment at any time. But companies aren't usually stupid enough to terminate employment during a situation like yours. You could easily get a lawyer and sue if released for your current situation.

What you would have to worry about is being put on LOA and not being able to return after 6 months. Im not sure, but I think the company can end employment at that time without risk.

Tennessee is an "Employment at Will" state.

And he only lives a mile away, no excuse for not driving really. But I still don't buy all of this story. Too many obvious errors.

I believe he said he crashed his truck a mile away from work, not that he lived a mile away from work. RT, tell her you want an event or Holter monitor as well as the tilt test.

Alright, You want to know my story. Ill tell you "error" free.

I know I shouldn't have drove. I knew the risk I was taking and I didn't care.

I love my family especially my nana. I would give my life and anyone else's just to see her smile. I know that you wouldn't know this but 2 month's ago I started a thread asking for prayers for her. She had got diagnosed with Stage 3 cancer. I had to give up my glorious life and move back home to take care of her. I'm only 23. I'm having to deal with my own problem's as well as pay for her treatments. Im spending all of my money on her while I am saving a little for me. So please, Continue to tell my story. As work isn't a mile away from my home. I was a mile from work when the incident occurred. I know there will be more glorified comments made from my reply but I couldn't careless.

Then you are a fool.

Aside from the obvious danger to yourself and others, how would you have cared for your Nana if you were dead, paralyzed, or in jail?

Would people defend you if you had gotten drunk and then headed in to work night shift?

If you are having near-daily events (as you described), then you have absolutely, positively, zero excuse for being behind the wheel.

Look at the damn pictures again, man. That could have been someone's wife and kids!
