I think he has achieved, or will achieve, legendary status. Maybe not on the Neyland level, but you never know. Many UT fans are very critical of him, but the fact is that CPF is the second best coach ever at UT, behind only General Neyland.

Because he won one NC with players that many coaches could've won 2-3 with?

He is still a great coach he has more achivements than just that 1 NC he has had several top recruiting classes, and you can't put all the blame on him for not winning more NCs. The players made the mistakes on the field that caused them to lose or they were out-played. So like I said before Coach Phillip Fulmer is a great coach in the NCAA

No way, believe me I think Fulmer hung the moon. But his record against the best teams recently and the fact that he only won 1NC and 2SECCG with practically an NFL team (mid to late 90's) is just too much to say that. He is great( 77 winning %) but not one of the greatest ever.

Like I said earlier you can't put all the blame on him for not having more wins!!! The players made the mistakes on the field or they got beat by a better team!!

A little off topic but i got to meet him in Cocoa Beach Fla. when we played Ohio State. It was at a coaches lunch. After it was over people would walk by and shake his hand and when i did he never looked at me and had a weak weak hand shake. I was really disappointed. Citrus bowl. I live in Fla so when vols come here i love it. Thats why it stung a little.

He is not a flamboyant as Spurrier and can hold his tears better then Urban. If he sticks around and keeps winning he will overtime become a well known and respected coach.

Not sure, if Fulmer's the best coach in the SEC, much less the NCAA. Currently, Richt, Tubberville, and Spurrier have better records head to head, as well as Nick Saban before he left for the NFL.

Great coaches teach players to execute

Well when when you get nervous you don't always remember what you're taught. Trust me I know from experience, and if anybody's played a sport or done anything in front of alot people know what I'm saying. Can you imagine in front of 100,000+ people.

I would say no for the very fact we know the results of the vols when Coach Cut is not a part of theis team. The team was in disarray with attitude and personal problems from 1999 through 2005. Now that Cut is back we are playing with the same swagger from 1993-1998. Coach Fulmer needs Cut and he is medicore without him.

Sign of a good coach is also having good assistants behind the scenes. During the strong Gator years Spurrier had Stoops. Not all good and great coaches do all the work themselves.
