98% of all these kids got other scholarship offers to other D-1 schools, so they are that talented and other schools saw D-1 potential in them. The problem isn't so much the lack of talent and speed (which is definitely a challenge, but not an excuse everytime), its the lack of mentoring and coaching to develop basic skills. There were missed lanes, false starts, horrible angles, horrible tackling, lack of defensive vision and defensive common sense (QB spy after he gashed us for what seemed to be 200yds in the first half) ZERO, and I mean ZERO defensive adjustments at half-time--- see opening kickoff and QB runs the rest of the game. This team lacks COACHING. All this and we are 3/4 through the season.

Agreed but Butch Jones has only been coaching them less than a year. You can't undo what Dooley did in one season.

Unless you are Gus Mahlzan. Then you can undo 0-8 in the SEC. Yes, I know, the Auburn roster was a much better situation.

The LB situation is atrocious. The D-line however is a mystery. There is a lot of 4 star talent out there, and they are getting smashed.

Ive found myself hoping that Vandy doesnt run the score up on us. Talk about a team that has gotten better as the year has progressed. They play in the same conference as us right?

Did you even watch the game?

Our D is slow as hell. Maybe the slowest in the SEC.

Thats what coaches are for. Yeah, you cant coach speed or depth, but you can prepare and put players in a position to succeed.

I get we may not win, but to look like a high school team this far into the season is pretty puzzling.

Before I say anything else, what would you have done sir?

True, such an illogical point to assume we do not have speed.

Evidently we have had 2 defensive coaching staffs in a row that cannot coach angles. VNers everywhere have it solved.

Some of you are so dumb, If you did not see this coming today, then you should stop watching football.

It's just so frustrating to see us hammered over and over and over.

I still think Butch is the guy, though.

Why do people always say this? It's not like Dooley told them they sucked every day. That argument is too played out and is used as an excuse when there is no basis.

Auburn didn't seem to have a problem "undoing" Chizik!

It is truly maddening. That said, he can't wave a magic wand and make people fast all of a sudden.

What did people think was going to happen with a front four that gets no penetration and a back 7 as slow as molasses?

Really, cause im pretty sure most the people on here thought this would be a close game.

Is it because Auburn has a bunch of 5 star players? Or is it because they have a great coach?

Lug even said on the field you could see the difference in team speed. CBJ said it from watching film after he got here. Hard to adjust to speed difference unless you can figure out how to make people faster at halftime. When you can do that then you will make millions showing us how to do it. You can run a 4.4 after 15 minutes with me even if you run a 5.0 when we meet.

We are getting beat down by highly ranked teams. Everyone knew this year would be rough coming in, and then Auburn and Mizzou turned out to be VERY good teams. Our schedule was tough as it was. It's tough. I'm glad we get a week off before Vandy. This team needs to meditate and come back and make a statement.

Gus also recruited the guys on offense to Auburn while he was the OC there he came into a better situation.

Well, most people voted for Obama too. So who gives a shat? Morons abound.

It is because Auburn had a program full of players recruited to run his system when he got there. They sucked last year because he was not there.

So what is it exactly? Some say the players suck, and some say the coaching sucks. Last year it was Dooley so we fired his arse yet only to find that everybody still complains when we continue to lose. I guess we might as well stop playing football at UT.
