Rand Paul allegedly detained by TSA

Sure, if you boil it all the way down.

which is the way to do it. A person could live their entire life and never come in contact with the TSA if they chose. Some will and some won't but everyone knows what their choices will lead to

It doesn't change the fact that to the government I'm a criminal for wanting to study in Japan.

Just because I have a "choice" doesn't mean the government should have the ability to violate my rights.

I've gone back and forth in my mind with this issue. Some of the people that travel nowadays have to be complete morons or are just spoiled American brats. Is it an inconvenience? Sure it is, but it is a small one. Plus, everybody by now should know the rules. Don't take this as me buying in to The Man and Big Brother, but I don't think the time for you to start exercising your Constitutional rights is right in front of me at the metal detector when I have a flight to catch. If people have an issue with it, please, do it on your time. There is a time and a place for everything.

This one clown about a month ago was arguing with the TSA agent because he had a 50 cal round as a key chain. I mean really? Meanwhile, this is holding up one of the lines in security while they go back and forth.

We have enough idiots that are in TSA. The last thing we need is to complicate matters by having the passengers be idiots.

I agree. I'm considerate enough to avoid complicating the travel of people whose travels have been complicated enough. At the same time, what's the point of wasting money and time on violating normal citizens?

it's not a violation if you consent (which happens when you buy the ticket)

You're completely correct, I'll go board the barge in a few weeks.

I'm glad there are fools who like being treated like terrists when they commit the offense of traveling.

you're still making a choice right? It's not like airport security is a surprise when you get there

I think the TSA is useless but they are avoidable

If the TSA is useless, why not just get rid of it? Why continue to subject American citizens to harrassment at the airport?

so I'm a fool for thinking the TSA is avoidable? Interesting

I'm all for it but you'll never get away from having some sort of airport security. It will be there if you choose to fly

I am an avid flyer. I don't think security is a big deal. Maybe I'm a communist...or maybe I'm easy-going.

I don't really think it's all that bad either. They've never really bothered me. They did try to molest my sister, and that pisses me off, but I haven't seen anything firsthand.

I just hate that it's forced on us. It's costly, and I guarantee they are a lot more wasteful than it'd be if privatized.

If they passed a law that said you had to swear an oath to (insert whatever religion/god you dislike here) before they issue you a driver's license, would you think that violated your rights for freedom of religion or would you say that you could simply choose not to have a license and there is no violation?

Or maybe we incarcerate anyone who is muslim and take their property. Being muslim is a choice right? if you choose to be muslim you are consenting to jail and confiscation.

right?
