This was on ESPN.com. He's now trying to decide whether to visit USC or UT on the last weekend in Jan.
Athlete Randall Carroll (Los Angeles, Calif./ Cathedral) took an official visit to UCLA this past weekend. Carroll talked about his visit, his future trip plans and how strong his commitment to USC is at this moment.
"I loved it at UCLA and felt very comfortable," Carroll said. "I know half the team already so when I'm there, it feels like a family. Rahim Moore was my host and I've known Rahim forever. I also hung out a lot with Jonathan Franklin, who's my cousin but really, we all hung out together and everyone gets along great on the team.
"I like where UCLA is located. It's a beautiful campus in a very nice area. I also like Coach Chow and Coach Neuheisal a lot and I think with those guys, they could have a pretty special offense down the road. They told me they need a deep threat because they don't really have that right now and I know that's something I could give them."
Carroll was set to visit Arizona State this coming weekend but that will now be pushed back to (Jan. 23).
"I'm not going to visit anywhere this weekend," Carroll said. "I'm just going to stay home and relax. Then I have ASU the following weekend and that last weekend before Signing Day (Jan. 30), I'll trip to either USC or Tennessee. I haven't decided yet but I do want to take one last visit."
As for his commitment to USC, Carroll says he's still a Trojan but is unsure if he'll end up there.
"I would say there's a 50-50 chance I'll sign with USC," Carroll said. "I'm just trying to figure out where the best place for me is and right now, I really don't know, I don't have that answer. I'm going to take these last few trips and hopefully have a decision on Signing Day."
Carroll said Cal is still very high on his list as well. I also asked Carroll about the rumors that he doesn't want to play corner in college and prefers receiver.
"Honestly, I'm fine with playing on either side of the ball, it doesn't really matter to me," Carroll said. "I'm more comfortable at receiver because I've been playing there my whole life and I only played a little corner at the end of our season this year.
"I think I'm a better receiver but I'm fine playing defense too and that won't have an impact on my decision. It's going to be where I feel most comfortable with the players, coaches and just the overall environment."
