Random Recruiting News

FYI for all the recruiting junkies: My son, who goes to school with Jackson Jeffcoat, just received a text from a classmate who stated that Jeffcoat committed to Oklahoma State tonight. Didn't know OSU was in the running. Haven't seen anything posted anywhere yet, but time will tell. Personally, I thought it would be OU.

Receiver Markeith Ambles, San Diego Mission Bay running back Dillon Baxter, Chapel Hill, N.C., offensive lineman Robert Crisp, Sammamish (Wash.) Skyline quarterback Jake Heaps and Palatine (Ill.) Fremd offensive lineman Christian Lombard, will all play in the Army AA Game.

I live San Diego, Dillon Baxter is the real deal, I think's headed to USC.

By fake UT you mean the school that represents the state that is nearly 50 years younger than the University of Tennessee.

That fact alone makes the Vols the real UT imo.
I would love to agree with you but sadly when you ask people not from Tenn. about UT They think texas.:cray:

Not really.

Even down here in the heart of Longhorn country, people are well aware that they have to share the UT brand name. My Orange hat with power T never gets mistaken for UTjr. The respect is still there for our football program, just an awareness that we have hit a rough patch.

Thats shocking to say the least if true. I actually do know people in the know at Texas and they have mentioned expecting him to commit to them anytime and going as far as calling him a silent.

MIke Harris (JUCO) commits to UA:

El Camino CC cornerback Mike Harris has committed to Alabama per sources close to the junior college star. The 6-0, 180-pound Harris, who is making his official visit to Alabama this weekend, is considered one of the nation’s top junior college defensive backs. Harris chose Alabama over Arizona, Florida, FSU, LSU, Miami, Michigan and others. More later.

So we can tell Milliner yalls depth chart is too deep now?

Just kidding Tidewarrior...

I do think even a Bama fan can admit that Monte Kiffin did more with less than Bama on Saturday. We can offer immediate playing time and a coaching genius. Berry was put in the position to make a great drive killing sack and the key fumble that dinged Ingram's Heisman chances.

Not really since we lose 4 DBs next year. Plus I think with Harris it is about immediate playing time since he is a JUCO. Millner wont be bother by it, because he knows we were recruiting Harris and Fulton still. This is are biggest area to replace next year.

Also Ingram, the coaches, or the school were never pushing for the Heisman, so it really doesn't matter that much. It was the fans that wanted it, but the school never launched nor were they going to a Heisman campaign.

Why should UA spend the money when ESPN was giving him all the coverage he needed (for free). Smart move on the schools part.

Have to disagree here. ESPN is in love with Tebow. He will when the Heisman this year because all the reporters think he is the best player to ever play the game.

Either I do not care as long as MI keeps doing what he doing I will be happy. Not to mention MI is only a sophmore.

I wouldn't go that far. Monte couldn't stop the wildcat at all. Alabama should have dorove it into the ground. That goes on McElwain though.

But he did great besides that.

Ingram was being pushed. Tebow is over. Ingram could still win it if he keeps going 100+ and the Tide are undefeated. Colt McCoy will win it I think.

I think Cody winning as a defensive player would be awesome. Defensive players are often the best player, and the best player on Alabama right now is T Cody. He is the difference maker and I mean scheme wise and everything. I thought that before the blocked FGs, but that game should only further highlight it.

If I went for Def Player it would go to E Berry or R McClain. Personally though I think the best player atleast in the SEC is R Cobb for Ky. Every other team can have someone missing or someone not playing well and still be competative, but RC carries their team. But they will not have a good record and hence he will not even be mentioned.

theres a article on scout on broussard in the recruiting section lables " checking options ' anybody know what it said ???

That's not what I remember. Alabama stopped going to it, because Monte adjusted by stacking the line and the wildcat started being less effective. The announcers even made the comment that Tennessee was selling out to stop the wildcat. If Bama would have had more success passing the ball, we would not have been able to do that. However, Monte trusted our secondary and McElroy's ineptitude. He dared them to pass the ball, and they still couldn't get a 1st down until late in the 4th quarter.
