KJ said later in the broadcast that the replay booth was having equipment issues during that part of the game, so it wouldn't have mattered if they called a TO or not....plus even if they did rule him down, it would have still been 1st down at the 12....maybe would've just delayed the TD a bit? who knows....

like in 02, the polls that chose sc mean nothing, but they may have in the past.

This is the point, the NCAA doesn't really care who is the best. They make enough money with the bowls that it doesn't really matter to them that they don't recognize a true champion. The '02 SC poll champ is just as meaningful as all the '02 OS poll champs combine to the NCAA. They don't recognize any of them as the true champion. It is ridiculous that a major sport like college football does not have a champion at the season recognized by the organization that runs the whole show.

lots of miscues on the replay , should have been an interception for Texas when the guy landed on his back and then fumbled it out of bounds, and the incomplete pass was really a great strip By the USC defender that should have gone to them...nothing is perfect.

USC's LB's were terrible
Young is insane
Leinart is a prick, crybaby, and pansy
Carroll's USC time will never be as great again
Keith Jackson needs to quit

Every thing is in place but the quarterback position. He shouldn't be beat around like Carr, Smith, etc and if Duece comes back the burden of the offense would not be on him.

It will be interesting to see if the Titans make a move for either of these QB's. On one hand, we have the Norm Chow / Jeff Fisher -- USC connection going after Leinart. On the other, we have Steve McNair being a close personal friend / mentor of Vince Young. I think the Titans are too low on the draft board (I believe they have the 4th overall pick). Both of these guys and Bush will be gone before the Titans pick, so they'd have to trade up if they want either that badly.

I was also mildly surprised how strong were USC's OL and soft Texas' DL straight up the middle.

Pac-10 teams are actually decent on the lines, it's just that most teams over here can't get those speedy dbacks from Florida to make for good secondary play.

Yep, Leinhart had all kinds of time and White had huge holes inside.

Texas' LB's and DB's tackled amazingly though. That #7 was awesome.

Never heard of many of these polls.

BTW did anybody else notice that UT is credited with a National Championship for 1938 and 1940, but not for 1939 when we didn't allow anybody to score a single freakin point the whole year? :bad:

True, but what is really amazing is that back in those days the National Championship was awarded BEFORE the bowl games. Not sure how they kept from voting an undefeated, unscored upon team #1, but I'm sure ESPN had something to do with it.
