Today was a good day. Tennessee won. Nico looked great. Pearce was a beast. Alabama lost. Texas lost. (Sorry WTF) And there's hope that Washington can beat Michigan. The only thing that would have made today better is an LSU loss.

what tax software do you guys use to file with?

I typically had someone file for me but that isn't happening moving forward.

We have stock sales, rental income, and WTF's small business so we use TurboTax, especially since her records are on QuickBooks and Intuit owns both of them....

If you have just W2 stuff, a cheaper alternative like TaxSlayer should be fine. I assume you make too much for FreeFile....

If you have super simple return (i.e. W2, no stock sales, no itemized deductions), you might be able to get H&R Block's service for free even if you make over FreeFile limits....

All these companies will try to upsell stuff. 99.99% of the time it's not worth it.

Turbo Tax Deluxe because State and deductions. You may be able to get a cheaper option. I've used TT since mid 90's

Tennessee's Hall Tax was a 6% tax on dividends and interest income until state legislators passed a bill in 2016 that began a six year phaseout of the Volunteer State's only income tax, taking it down one percentage point per year.
Haslam/legislature? decided around 2020 to go to 0% immedately.
The tax was only on interest and dividends with interest from banks domiciled in TN being exempt.
I retired in 2015, and had to pay it for a few years. Luckily the rate was dropping from 6% each year.
