I wasn't sure, didn't look at the directions in depth. I saw the wsy I came was a little quicker, so I wanted to get a little familiar, just in case of an emergency to get here or something. Gonna try to come back a weekend some time after Christmas, probably go that way then.

When I traveled that road a lot going to Lexington and back, I got to where I'd rather just go from Kingsport on 23 and get on 58 at Duffield and come out at Cumberland Gap.
Then I'd get on 229 past Bailey Switch to get on 75....that was quicker for me.

I'll definitely do it eventually God willing. I read last night it may be late 2025 before I40 from NC into Tennessee opens back up.

Home. Decided last minute to go through Virginia to get to Asheville. Almost called you @GordonC but I know you have your hands full. Wasn't a bad way at all, ledt at 9, stopped twice, and home at 2. Pretty drive.
