I built a pretty simple trap to reloacte some problem felines around my house. So far I have trapped 3. One to go. He seems to be the crafty, mean one of the bunch. My luck we will catch him tonight and the roads will have an inch of ice on them and I won't be able to haul him to the next county like the rest.

You do not take them to animal control or a shelter? If they are fertile, they’ll increase the feral cat problem.

Housecats are an introduced species in North America. Their purpose is to be companion animals for humans. There is no place for feral housecats on this continent. Spay/neuter and pair them up with humans or destroy them. I post this as one who loves and properly cares for a housecat.

I am all for lowering the population. My family on the other hand, is not in favor of that option.

What I have been doing is dropping the tailgate of the truck and then opening the door to the trap. They shoot out of there like a cannonball. I think when I finally catch this one I will back up all the way to the edge of the lake and then do the same. Somewhat mean, but also somewhat funny.
