I always thought the boom was continous as long as the jet exceeds the speed of sound. Does that start when the jet equals the speed of sound? Does it end when the jet equals the speed of sound after slowing down? Or does the speed of the jet have to drop below the speed of sound to end the boom? When a jet breaks the sound barrier it creates a sonic boom….. when it slows down and returns to the sound barrier…. Does it create a sonic boom as well?![]()
sounds like a question for tech supportI always thought the boom was continous as long as the jet exceeds the speed of sound. Does that start when the jet equals the speed of sound? Does it end when the jet equals the speed of sound after slowing down? Or does the speed of the jet have to drop below the speed of sound to end the boom?
So is the boom =,> speed of sound or only > speed of sound?
