Well you aren't supposed to bream fish with catfish pole.Blue gill will hit the bait several times before they grab it. Crappie will grab and take it down and you know you have them. Catfish will nibble and nibble, then go down with it. Blue gill doesn’t give up much of a fight, crappie is more of a chess match, but the cat, will fight you all the way to the bank, at least that’s my experience.

Surely you could have done a lot better! Find you a real man...a man than catch a fish big enough to feed the family and can also reach the cereal on the top shelf at the grocery store without your help!!!!

I bet that was fun! I caught my cat on one of my bigger crappie rods, still a fun fight. I caught the hybrid on my itty bitty one, didn't think I'd get it inTry one on a 6wt flyrod. We used to fish them with 9wts underneath the porch at Calhoun"s at Ft. Loudon. Biggest we managed to drag out was 15 lbs.
