Singing. Those of us who do not practice enough to make true tones throughout the song we’re singing, who stray from perfect pitch once or twice seldom solo in the company of others. There are some with “tin ears” who obliviously subject those around them to tuneless renditions of popular songs. How many errant notes can your ears endure? Are you generous in spirit, saying nothing to discourage someone loudly butchering song after song? Are you diplomatic, interrupting them with questions and conversation? Or are you blunt in expressing your displeasure with their vocalizations?

Well, I’m in a church choir and two community choruses. I dang well better not express any displeasure.

As for other situations, I’m just happy to see people sing. Good for them for trying!
