the rain set in here aabout 2 this afternoon and hasnt let up since. Not as though we needed any. Almanacs are truly amazing. Called for a very wet winter this year, so far it is spot on.

I forgot what it is that you do for a living. I have to start a jack replacement job on an outside elevator Monday. Good thing is, its supposed to be in the 50's here next week.

I run a utility construction crew, but in winters i do work for a friend who does snow removal at a huge aerospace plant. Keeps me busy and lines the pockets pretty well

I remember now. Stay safe and warm out there. i wish you could do rain removal, I would bring you down here.

I haven't, didn't even boil my traps this year. Seeing how its been considerably colder than normal its a shame, the furs must be ultra prime. That and there's all kinds of canines that could stand to be caught.

They put a bounty on coyote's the last year I lived in Utah. $50 per kill.

furs are bringing a ton down here this year. If I had the time, i would be trapping for sure.

I'm just a terrible skinner. Muskrats bring a fair dollar , , and are easy to catch, if you can rip through them. I just don't have the touch.

Coon are way down in numbers here, they are pretty dramatic with their ebb and flow.

I could make a good check on that. They've gotten obnoxious here, surprisingly mostly the 91 corridor from about Windsor to New Haven, not so much in the typical spots. Heard a half dozen or so last week outside my girlfriends condo in Hamden

Bobcats are out the roof here. We have a ton of them on our lease. Also, if you can trap coyotes, they are bringing 150-200 alive and unharmed. They buy them here to put in pens so they can run them for sport. A coyote is hard to trap though. You have to be on your game.

They're slowly moving in everywhere. With all the construction into what used to be wild country, they don't have anywhere to go. Utah learned quickly that the only way to curb them was to put out the bounty. If I was still there, I could be pulling down some big bucks.

I don't know how you'd get one alive, its tense enough popping them with a 22 short when they're in a foothold,

you have to use plastic jawed traps, dig out around the trap and be 100 percent scent free when setting the trap. I was taught by an old man who has since passed on. He was a master at it. I tried it a few times and for the most part have been unsuccessful. I bet with a little time and practice i could do it. I dont have the time for that **** though.

I'm gettin' a lasso and movin' to Arkansas.

Yep, wildlife is adapting, we've got enough bears now to be a borderline nuisance, and i didnt ever see one, or sign of one here until maybe 2005

My grandfather was a world class fox trapper, canine trapping has really become a lost art
