Randy Shannon to UF

You quoted a post where i was explaining why UF was not sent to Jacksonville.

But to respond, the state of FL produces enough D-1 talent to comprise 16 full recruiting classes, the OOS competiton for recruits has a negligible impact on the overall pool.

You don't think our fanbase is fickle as well? Our average attendance in 2012 was 89k, 95k in 2013 and 99k in 2014. In the last 3 years we've failed to out attend UF in terms of attendance as a percentage of stadium capacity. In lamest terms, UF is putting a higher percentage of butts in the seats.

Has our fanbase suddenly gotten bigger? No, people show up more often for a winner, eberywhere.

Incorrect. I attended 4 Gator home games this year. This would never happen against LSU at home in Neyland with us having a loss. Their attendance has been putrid for 2 years. Ours has increased over last two years. What am I missing here?

According to my razorback family (wifes side)

He sucks. Lol.

Their defense sucked under him. I'll be honest, I don't know enough about the man.

Our AD will pass yours this year.

Miami not only has the best recruiting base in the country but were cheating at the highest level.

It will? Ok, we can revisit your claim in a year...with a link to back it up I'm sure.

As for Miami, it's easier to throw money around if the players are a short drive away. :)

Schnellenberger laid the Miami foundation and won a title, he did so without cheating. Dade and Broward kids didn't need an incentive to stay home in those days. And the benefits happened after arriving. They werent paid just to come to UM.

Holy hell you are dillusional now LW. Nothing in that post says anything about UFs fan base opinions having anything to do with UT. Every Gator fan I know is depressed and Meh on the bowl game. It has nothing to do with UT. Nice try for the straw man though.

Now back on point. Our two HCs are pretty similar. Thus the jobs currently are pretty similar.

Your words....

Agree that fans are fickle everywhere however for current state I believe our fan base is on the upswing while UF is still TBD at this point due to our program on the upswing.

I re-edited it for you. :)

Ok I'm actually lost on what you mean here. But go read my edits above I did indeed stick my foot in my mouth on a post and acknowledged that you busted me on it. Lol :)

Another edit: lol I'm truly slow today. Couldn't even see your edit LW. Meh it's the only argument I need but I'm sure I made more points above. Now go the hell away so I can watch Oregon motorboat FSU I'm sure we at least both agree on that one. Cheers :)

Lol our posts are literally passing in the inter-ether. You caught me in a gaffe go read the edits.

Doesn't change my point on the HC hires though :)

Lol that reminds me of the Michael Irvin comment on how he took a pay cut his rookie year?

Schnellenberger cheated and we both know that. He'll, they outlined his cheating in the 30 for 30.

You're missing the attendance figures that suggest otherwise. Our fanbase has not "grown", it's the same fans from 2004 who are just coming back to games now. It's not some 35 year old who woke up August 1st and said I'm a UT fan now, I think I'll go to 7 home games.

What time during the game was that picture taken? I could show a pic from before KO at Neyland and suggest that was the attendance. Box score says 88k attended that game, possibly an inflated number like many of UT's home games. You'd be surprised at the discrepancy between the reported attendance and the actual attendance, even at Neyland.

Take one of your avatar pills! Gainesville is a dump!

In what ways? Everyone says this but has never given a tangible reason. It's a college town being compared to an avg size city. One would expect Knoxville to have more to offer in the way of amenities.

That picture was taken in the 1st quarter

There was 70000 max there that night.

We are probably one of 10-20 teams that showed an increase in attendance. There are no attendance figures I can post about swamp attendance in 2014. I can only tell you first hand that the attendance for LSU, South Carolina, Missouri and Kentucky were flat out sad.

Who gives a crap about attendance percentage when it's not capacity? That's an ignorant comparison. If they sold out you could argue the ability for more.

Facts are we have had 100000+ more to show up for our games the past two years than their pathetic win now fanbase. That's all that matters and we have sucked until the obvious improvements this year.

I have not met a single Gator fan that thought Gainesville was a better experience than Knoxville.

Attendance percentage is a better indicator for comparison sakes because not all stadiums hold the same amount. Saying we outdraw them is ignorant because we hold 12k more butts. That's 84k more people per season. It's impossible for UF to outdraw us if we both sellout every game, doesn't mean their attendance is any worse. If we only have 93% of the seats filled and they have 98% filled, which is what the figures from 2013 are, how does that make them more fickle than us? 93% of 102k will always be higher than 98% of 90k.

I'm ot talking gameday experience. He's insinuating the whole town sucks. I'm asking what sucks so bad about the town of Gainesville.

I've met very few fans from other schools, especially in the SEC, who don't think they have the best gameday experience.

Which begs the question...how many Gator fans have you met? :eek:lol:

I'm sure you could find a few blind subjective homers who think all things associated with their school is better than any other school.

Take this thread for instance.

That's what's so great about our conference. With the exception of Vandy and UK just about all SEC venues offer very good to great gameday experiences.

Hell, Ole Miss is better than most and their fans rarely have anything to cheer for.

I think he's in Ft Myers; you know, around the 2nd largest alumni chapters for all the B1G schools.

I was at the UK-UF game in 2007, for the top 10-15 matchup game and was quite surprised at even UK's pregame atmosphere. They showed their true colors though when I couldnt unload an extra ticket for more than $25 for that game.
