Randy Shannon to UF

I was at the UK-UF game in 2007, for the top 10-15 matchup game and was quite surprised at even UK's pregame atmosphere. They showed their true colors though when I couldnt unload an extra ticket for more than $25 for that game.

GameDay was in town and UK knocked off #1 LSU the week prior.

By some of their own fans' admission the atmosphere was unlike any UK home game in recent memory.

Having visited Lexington several times for UF-UK games, the atmosphere in 2007 was definitely the exception.

It was quite good that year.

My first time in Lexington was 2005 the week after we lost to Vandy to end our bowl hopes. I've seen more emotion at a funeral than that game, featuring a premier 3-7 vs 4-6 matchup.

Attendance percentage is a better indicator for comparison sakes because not all stadiums hold the same amount. Saying we outdraw them is ignorant because we hold 12k more butts. That's 84k more people per season. It's impossible for UF to outdraw us if we both sellout every game, doesn't mean their attendance is any worse. If we only have 93% of the seats filled and they have 98% filled, which is what the figures from 2013 are, how does that make them more fickle than us? 93% of 102k will always be higher than 98% of 90k.

It's only an argument if they sellout. Otherwise your point is moot.

Which begs the question...how many Gator fans have you met? :eek:lol:

I'm sure you could find a few blind subjective homers who think all things associated with their school is better than any other school.

Take this thread for instance.

Almost all I know are gator fans and a few former players as well. None have said Gainesville is better than Knoxville.

If they both sellout then they both sold 100% of their seats, there is no comparison then. Your point is moot. The attendance figures as a percentage of capacity would not be published and referenced if it was pointless. Is Lee County not teaching basic math anymore?

I'm ot talking gameday experience. He's insinuating the whole town sucks. I'm asking what sucks so bad about the town of Gainesville.

I've met very few fans from other schools, especially in the SEC, who don't think they have the best gameday experience.

I don't think Gainesville sucks. I do feel based on the restaurant's, city, area and activities that it is inferior to Knoxville. That's my opinion.

Mu goodness you're getting rustled. Aren't you from Clewiston? I win!

Sarasota is far superior to wherever you're from.

You're arguing that a non sellout team has an argument on percentage points over another non sellout team. That's idiotic.

Show me the gator home attendance and I'm sure I can figure out the percentage myself. Until you do, you lose.

As would be expected. The Knoxville metro population is roughly 800k, Hogtown is 200k. My little redneck hometown in the Glades doesn't have the beach or the amenities that Ft. Myers does, but I wouldn't expect it to, nor would I trade where I'm from for the coast.

What's with the Ft.Myers stuff man. Yiu have something against the Green Wave?

Yes, I'd love to live around a population of Midwesterner's on their deathbeds. Sarasota has Siesta Key, other than that you can have it.

Ok this is getting needlessly personal and testy. It was more fun with me and LW debating which coaching job was better. I'll start that bac up instead.

NO U'RE WRONG!!!

Service up

Argument over. Sarasota is perhaps the best city in Florida. I have grandparents in Boca. A sister in Wellington. Mom in Venice and friends all over.

I'll let you have Clewiston. Sweetest city in Florida right? I do like passing through and pissing at the McDonald's on the way to nicer area's of the state.

I'll take high road now.

Florida is a nice place, a fantastic institution, and a fun place to party at and watch a game.

Randy Shannon was the best hire CJM has made.

Clewiston is cool and I like fishing at lake Okeechobee.

I like when both schools are good because the rivalry used to be fun.

Go Vols!

Sweetest Town in America.

So basically your family lives in fabricated Florida, I prefer the real Florida. The area where a majority of your food comes from.

Edit: I accept your apology and present mine as well.

This got out of hand. I apologize. Go Vols!

You going tomorrow?

No I'm not going. My wife has to work and I didn't want to go without her. My parents are heading down today from KY and I could've hitched a ride but she'd hold it over my head till the end of time. So I refrained from going. My sister is heading up from SoFL as well.

And you're right, FL as a whole is a great state. I loved my time at UT and enjoy living in middle TN but I'd trade TN for FL every single time. Wish my wife would see things the same way and I'd been back home a long time ago.

I love Tennessee and obviously defend it with bias. I must say however that it would take a lot more than money to pry me from South Sarasota.

Would be a good deal if I ate seafood. I somehow can't stand any of it despite never living more than 60 miles from the coast.

Alright then. Sorry about the escalation. I had you pegged wrong. That being said I am still curious to see the actual attendance figures released by ncaa for 2014.

Won't see you tomorrow but hopefully enjoying victory with about 40000 other brothers and sisters.
