I worded it wrong, for I'm aware that LSU and A&M have 2 losses but are still highly ranked and I was talking about cracking it. Wisky isn't ranked in AP and I don't pay attention to the coaches.

The rest of you have no idea what you're talking about. Barring a ton of other upsets, who would they jump?

At least 5 ranked teams are going to lose (One of 10 Texas Tech/15 Oklahoma, one of 5 Mizz/21 SCar, one of 6 Stanford/25 Oregon St., one of 3 Oregon/12 UCLA, and some random team like 23 UCF), so UT should be able to jump some of them with losses, especially teams like Oregon State, SCar, or UCF. I think UT would make it in.

There's no way we wouldn't be ranked. Zero. Zilch. Overall record isn't the most important factor when ranking teams. If it was, then a 2-loss LSU team wouldn't have played in the national championship game in 07. This team has improved more than about any team in the country since the beginning of the year. Rankings are determined by human beings across the nation, and if you think human beings would keep UT out of the top 25 after huge wins the last two weeks, you're off your rocker. Heck, beating USCe got them 1 vote in the coaches poll.

If we were to beat #1 bama at bama we would absolutely be ranked. That's if the world didn't end immediately after the game.

Half the people talking about rankings and getting too excited before the game will be crying about our team/coaches if we lose.

Expectations... Believe we can win but don't cry if we lose.

Yes we would be ranked IMO

1. Top 10 after we beat Bama
2. Top 5 next weekend after Mizzou
3. Win out the rest including Bama in Atlanta
4. Controversy and a lot of pissed fans at end of year when they dont let us play Oregon again for NC and Palardy is bypassed for Heisman

Your off your rocker but if somehow we are ranked next week I will eat crow and say I was wrong. Yes overall ranking isn't the only factor but it is a factor and when you have other teams that are playing just as good ball with more wins then how in the world donyou justify ranking us ahead just because we beat a no1 and A USC team that was without their starter on the last drive. The people who vote know how football is played and aren't just some random joe off the street to say oh theat beat the best so they should be ranked

Who are these retards that think 5-3 with wins over #11 South Carolina and #1 Alabama with losses to #s 2,6, and 19 wouldn't get you ranked... Damn some of these people are jaded... or stupid... That being said, this is all elementary... There's only a ~5% chance UT leaves Tuscaloosa with a win...

The UGA loss is looking less impressive now as they aren't ranked.

Tennessee has ZERO control over that, and #6 is where Georgia was when they played them... What Georgia has done since then is irrelevant to Tennessee...

I'm neither jaded nor stupid there "howie". Poll voters would be more impressed with a team that had just beaten USCe and especially Bama than some of the teams currently ranked who have played pretty much no one.

I'd agree there is a slim chance UT wins... but poll voters are influenced by "buzz". UT wins over #11 and #1 in consecutive weeks would certainly result in "buzz".

No. But it is relevant to voters. UGA would be a factor against UT being ranked at this point. Poll voters aren't often deep thinking enough to consider how injuries impact a team across a season like that.

But not to voters. They'll see UGA as way over-ranked considering they lost 2 in a row and 1 of those being to Vandy.

It doesn't really matter that much at this stage. If UT were to go on a winning streak the rankings would take care of themself.
