Rashida Tlaib’s THOBE, and Ilhan Omar’s HIJAB, are making congressional history

REPORT: OMAR ATTACKED US SOLDIERS WHO DIED FIGHTING IN ‘BLACK HAWK DOWN’ OPERATION

A newly unearthed tweet shows Minnesota Democratic Rep. Ilhan Omar attacking the U.S. soldiers who fought and died in the Battle of Mogadishu.

“In his selective memory, he forgets to also mention the thousands of Somalis killed by the American forces that day! #NotTodaySatan,” Omar wrote in a tweet in October 2017, uncovered Monday by John Rossomando of the Investigative Project on Terrorism.

Omar was responding to another tweet about the Battle of Mogadishu, a 1993 humanitarian operation by the U.S. military that sought to save starving Somalis by preventing food and aid from being captured by enemy combatants. The battle ultimately took the lives of 19 American soldiers and wounded 73 others, and it became the subject of the famous Hollywood movie “Black Hawk Down.”

Was that person an inept pilot with multiple crashes and only in their position due to their dad’s position?

Deflect deflect deflect.

Have you read the entire tweet thread? Al Franken noted that 230 somalis had been killed in a terrorist attack in Somolia, which Franken described as the country's worst ever. Then a guy chimes in to say the worst terrorist attack was not that one, but one that killed 19 Americans. Another guy points out that 19 is over 10 times less than 230. Omar then notes that way more somalis were killed that day by Americans. What's offensive about this?

And "not today Satan" is apparently a drag queen saying that means you're not going to let someone's negativity get you down. The negativity here was that someone was claiming the death of 19 Americans mattered more than the death of 230 non-Americans.

It's fine to have issues with McCain's career in public service. But the rip on him military service should be beneath you. If it isn't, you need to look up so you can locate the bottom of the barrel.

Sorry, but it does to me.

But you've never served so I wouldn't expect you to understand.

So, as a service member, it's fine to slaughter countless non-combatants to save one of your own? If so, what's the moral principle that leads you to that conclusion?

Fine? no. But if I have to make a choice I would do that. You can just go ahead and shoot yourself in the head.

Of course your entire premise is hyperbole of the worst type because soldiers don't do that (with notorious exception) to peaceful groups. ANd if they are non-combatants... as you say... what would be the necessity of killing them?

Are you suggesting thats what happened? Americans soldiers were slaughtering innocent somalians? Look at this womans pattern of behavior, claims of israel hypnotizing the world, she wants lighter sentences on isis, "some people did something", now this.... She does not stand with the american people or america as a whole. Its comical how you critque trumps tweet about dropping water on notre dame but defend this.

So what makes it a worse tragedy for 19 American soldiers to be killed in a terrorist attack vs. 230 Somali civilians killed in a terrorist attack. At least the soldiers were technically combatants.

Not trying to sound harsh or diminish one tragedy in favor of the other. But from the tweet thread someone was clearly minimizing the value of the life of an "other" and Omar called him out. That just seems like what a moral person would do.

We all figured you would take the anti-American side.

Don’t act like none of those 230 didn’t have weapons.

You’re certainly entitled to your opinion. He wasn’t a good soldier or pilot and if you choose to ignore those facts that’s your prerogative.

Well... at least you are back on point. Your other response was pure garbage because you were making it sound as if it were the soldiers doing the killing.. It's really not an either/or scenario. I still choose our guys if I had to make a choice. I know you and your terrorist congresswoman dont like that stance.

Maybe she should ask the family of MSG Gary Gordon what they think of that...

What's a bigger tragedy--when you lose a loved one or when I lose a loved one? From your perspective, you may view your loss as greater, from my perspective, I may view mine as greater. But from a neutral perspective, they should be viewed as the same.

The whole thing started when the one guy responded to Al Franken by saying the loss of 19 soldiers was a bigger loss than the loss of 230 civilians. I think a neutral observer would say the bigger loss/tragedy was the civilian loss of 230. The number is greater and they were civilians (i.e., non-combatants). Do you disagree with that?

Loss of life is a loss of life, regardless of the numbers. However, it's the manner in which the lives were lost as to the severity of it.

Furthermore, the desecration of the bodies of US Army personnel in the aftermath of Mogadishu should appall you.

I'm not saying the mutilation doesn't appall me, but it pails in comparison to a loss of life.

So, back to Omar, who was expressing the more morally acceptable view? She, who was basically speaking out about a guy who was trying to elevate the loss of American combatants over somali civilians, or he, who was elevating the loss of American combatants over the loss of Somali civilians (19 vs 230)?
