If UT opens the check book we could have a great coach. The don't have to be available they could be coaching somewhere else.

I have to agree with die now. Before we got smacked with 2 more yrs of probation I would have thought we made a decent splash but now I have no idea.

That depends what they are willing to pay.

I still believe the UT admin is in shambles, but we will see.

Derek Dooley ... i'm not trying to be smart about it, but right now that is all Hart has allowed to be put out there. I do not see a viable option for the amount Tennessee is probably trying to offer. It is hard to believe that 2 or 3 million is going to find a coach of Tennessee's caliber needs. If it wants to compete with the big boys they will have to raise the stakes around 2 to 4 more million.

Chucky just called and he said he okay with probation..since his wife is a ex cheerleader from UT and he owns a piece of land here he is willing to leave multimillion dollar TV job, possible NFL jobs and come to a middle of the pack SEC football program with no recruiting base and probations...as a 4th coach in last 5 years !!

Yay to chucky !!

The probation is not that big of a deal. Relax peeps! The dark ages of Vols football are behind us. Onward and upward.

if you take out the land and cheerleader wife ... people would think you were describing Saban and Alabama.

Since you are asking, I would like to throw my name out there.. I have a pretty good record in NCAA 13. I have had top 5 recruiting classes the last four years and have made a BCS bowl each season.

You're prob right but losing schollies aren't good either. I thought we lost some anyways. I could be wrong.

We never lost scholarships. Only thing that remotely hurts us is that we can't give free tickets to the first 2 conference games in '13 to our recruits.

I don't know anymore. Thought we had some good candidates besides Gruden, but we do not. hart will likely try to shoe horn kirby Smart into the job. Not interested in that scenario in in way, shape, form or fashion. Any suggestions?

Fail. Saban had no choice but to come back to college to coach. Gruden has every reason not to.

Saban decides to come back to college ... so he chooses to go with the one train wreck in the SEC. Alabama had all kinds of issues with coaches and the NCAA. I do not know who the next coach will be and will not speculate, but if Tennessee throws enough cash their way ... they will listen.

If it comes to Gruden which pretty much is a "pipe dream" ... I would say nothing is 0%, especially with enough 0's at the end.

Yeah, might as well kept the dodo lander. Sure, we will be 2-10 next year. But there is more to life than winning football games. There is also butterfly watching. If we have really really really stinky football in bog orange country, then they allows be to focus more of my time on my second hobby...butterfly watching. If a really focus my skills perhaps this next year and I can spot and photograph the extremely rare lime colored rhinoceros coconut o'roy jerky treat butterfly. That would be such a wonderful accomplishment and would be far superior to defeating Alabama in the game of football.
