Really hurting. Any positives from this game?

Our younger players got some game experience yesterday that will help them grow into better players. I saw some good young talent yesterday.

I think the takeaway from here is showing the nation we accept the fact we took what Oregon put on us, learned from it, got back up and moved forward. It's not the hits you take or even the ones you put out that matter, it's what happens when you get back up. I applaud Oregon on their game, they are very talented.

What happened yesterday is exactly what everyone predicted would happen. I don't know why everyone is now freaking out. It will get better. We don't have anywhere near the same athletes they do to compete. If you can't see that, then I can't help you

It just brought many back down to reality, that we still have 2-3 more years before we become competitive again. It's a hard pill to swallow after living through the past 5 years.

We held them to 5.1 yards a carry. 41 carries and 210 yards. I consider that to be a pretty big success, especially since They had rushed for 350 and 500 in the previous two games
We wanted to make the QB beat us with his harm and he did it.

Help a Vol fan out.

I was really drinking the CBJ Kool-Aid (and I never drank the Kiffin / Dooley and Sal snake oil).

But I just can find no positives from this. I don't really want to hear about "realism" or "nega". We got out-coached, out-played, out-manned, and out-performed in every aspect as far as I can tell. We are a long and mighty walk from SEC respectability.

I expected a loss, but I expected it to still be a game before halftime. It made the Dooley game look respectable.

Right now, I think the only positive will be if CBJ and the coaches can hold this team together. My faith is shaken. We might be headed for our first eight loss season in our history.

Effort was there the entire game.

There are no positives and nothing to gain for playing a game like this when you are rebuilding.

You ever think the game plan went exactly the way the coaches wanted it to go? Go out and play conservative, not get hurt (which happened anyway) and get ready for the SEC stretch starting this week?

If that was the gameplan from the coaches, then Butch doesn't get it.

Realism, fine. We knew a beating was coming. But the coaches still have to find ways to make the team competitive, to give the team hope, to keep it close for a half!

I didn't see it. I saw punts at midfield where clearly the play was to extend the drive. The net 30 yards for a punt meant nothing yesterday. I saw a lot of misdirection when our strength is straight up the gut. I saw a lot of plays which required Worley to do something he wasn't capable of. There is still no identity to our offense.

The positive from this game? This was a game we were suppose to lose anyway. Our goal this year is 6 wins and a bowl game. 7 wins would be a great success in my mind. We got 2 already. We have 1 more cupcake left on the schedule. So we just need to win 3 of UK, Vandy, Auburn, Missouri (all beatable even by us)...and/or get 1 of FL, GA, USCe

Count out auburn, they have a spread qb that can run... We dont... We try to run the read option, but everyone knows our qb isnt running... At that point its a joke..

I will agree with you on the punting. Should have gone for it a few times, especially knowing they would return it almost to the same spot as the line of scrimmage

Another positive...finding parking for the S Alabama game will be a breeze.

JK...I'm hurting too, trying to laugh to keep from crying.

I'm 6'4" so having my legroom back is also worthy of note. I do miss having to stand up so many times it makes the pretzel position a non issue.

I think the biggest positive is that the game is over and Oregon doesn't appear on our schedule anymore.

Also, playing anyone else is going to seem like slow-motion.

I'm interested in how we respond mentally going to Gainesville.

Exactly.

I am sure signing the home and series with them in 2005 seemed like a good idea at the time but at least it's over.

And I agree they won't see that kind of team speed the rest of the season.

The losses will be more of a slow meat grinder variety from here on out.

Not really. We can still compete against most SEC teams.

Oregon would have shredded 11/14 SEC teams yesterday.

Glad you are just kidding. Because while we were losing yesterday, S. Alabama beat W. Kentucky. I thought S. Alabama was going to be a push over, and hopefully they will, but if we don't fix our program we might be in more trouble.

If you thought there was any other possible outcome then I'm sorry. But that team was just a lot better than us.
