Excited to see the staff bringing in more and more high profile recruits as the weeks go by. I'm curious to see where everyone thinks we are at with some of the big name recruits that haven't committed yet. Here's my take. I don't have any inside information. I'm just a regular lurker

Wright - seems to be all but publicly committed - 90% chance he signs with the Vols (post UK analysis - same)

OP - seems to be fairly split between us and barn, trending in our direction - I'll say 60% chance he ends up in orange (and white)
(post UK analysis - 70% bc Atlanta Vol)

Haselwood - we seem to be picking up traction here, nuggets from last night make me think we're a serious contender - 40% chance he signs with the good guys
(post UK analysis - same)

Kenyatta Watson - trending in the right direction, wanya in his ear - 50% chance he's a vol (post UK analysis - 60% bc Atlanta Vol OP post)

Crouch - slight long shot at this point but seemed to like us a lot early, a good visit and we're back in the thick of it - odds at 20% imo
(post UK analysis - 33% could be higher apparently got "butterflies" at our game. Sounds like love. )

To'oto'o - feel good about where we are here, not a lot of noise as of late but that could be good - 50% chance he's Knoxville bound (post UK analysis - 40% still think we've got a decent shot, but he pushed off his vist)

John Emery - longest shot out of everyone listed in my opinion - 10% chance he's a vol
(post UK analysis - 20% still a long shot but he's planning an OV and enjoyed his time here)

Justin Eboigbe - seems to have a good relationship with the staff and looks like a freak - 30% chance he ends up on Rocky Top (post UK analysis - 30% maybe we helped our case here some. I think he was impressed with the win but can't shake him trolling our Twitter fanbase )

Curious to hear everyone's takes and would love to see your best guess at quantifying the odds particularly those of you who are on here everyday

(post UK reaction: Great weekend for the vols. Truly great to be a Tennessee Vol. We look improved on the field and recruiting is looking better all the time. Very excited for the next few years under Pruitt. I hope he's here for a long time)

Final prediction: we finish with the 6th best class in the country (post UK prediction: sticking with 6th for now but starting to think our ceiling might be higher which is insane)

I think you have it nailed here. Tho, the only change I would make, is that there seems to be a lot more noise around Eboigbe from those close to him. I’d increase the percentage on that one that he’ll be a Vol
Glad you think so. You always seem to have your finger on the pulse of vol recruiting. Hoping for a strong finish!

Lot of buzz lately. But literally EVERY YEAR there is buzz like this. Not getting my hopes up.
I have followed recruiting pretty closely for about a decade and it has been a while since we have had a puncher's chance with six five stars this late in the game based on my recollection. It does seem like there is always inevitably more hype than what we are able to reel in, but I think this year we are in on more big fish than previous years

You say we have a puncher's chance with six five stars? We have one committed. Who are the others you are suggesting?

i recall the 04,05 classes we were in on some 5 starrers. I remember Patrick Turner spurned us late for USC, Mitch Mustain to USC. We ended up with Cromptos, DMo, Chris Scott, Dlineman from MT. Anyway my pt is we were in on quite a few Dlinemen all way to the wire. That was back when we waited till signing day to see who signed. Kids rarely committed early. Jamie Newberg had that stupid show on FSS every Wed.

Apologies if i confused years, list was off top of my head.

According to the 247 composite, the six five stars that are interested in order of speculated interest:
Wanya Morris - committed
Darnell Wright - likely silent
Owen Pappoe - split between us and AU
Jadon Haselwood - strong interest likely visiting soon
Quavaris Crouch - visiting this weekend
John Emery - least likely but vol legacy and likely visiting soon

There's always buzz with us. A storied program with great facilities and a lot of exposure with playing time to spare.

I feel like Butch's first year we did this same fiasco. Or whatever year carl Lawson came through. We were "in" for a handful and came away with zilch.

So let me see if I have this right... We are the only program that has buzz this time of year. Because there has been numerous occasions that we didn't get the players there was buzz around, we should not get excited because we will not get all of the them. But we should come to the recruiting forum daily (or hourly) to see if there is any buzz around any players.

Had no idea we were in on Haselwood. Solid list.

OP, thoughts on Eric Gray?
I think Eric Gray is a slight vol lean at this point, with what was quoted above from VQ as part of the justification for that. I do wonder how the RB position recruiting shakes out if the staff does indeed feel like we have a shot with Crouch and John Emery. However I've seen a few places that we may be taking 28, so space may not be as much of an issue as we all think it is?

I love Gray and would be thrilled to have him, but I'm not sure what the staff thinks about their chances with some of the guys listed above and how they grade out Gray vs Crouch vs John Emery. I think you take 2 of the 3 of those, but the chance we pull John Emery and Crouch out of the hat is less than 5% imo.

If I was a gambling man, I think Gray is a vol and the other two go to Clemson (Crouch) and LSU (John Emery), buy maybe the staff will surprise us. They've surprised me by positioning themselves well with Jadon Haselwood this late in the game. Hopefully more surprises to come
