Interesting approach. Hope it pays off and the team is rewarded. To be fair that approach has not worked well in our most recent coaching past. However, those coaches did not achieve what this staff has already done thanks to a lot of players, but especially Hendon Hooker in the previous two seasons. The fall off at the most critical position on the field is glaring. The rest of the team has stepped up in a major way. The coaching staff has been outstanding at development overall.Joe's their guy. Coaches made the decision a while back.
Don't care either way about either. But I do like when USC is good. It kills the jackass Sankeyization narrative that college football only deserves to be east of the Rockies. Can’t wait to see USC lose the next 4 out of 5 games. Strongly dislike Riley and Williams
Yeah spot on .This is spot on. Joe played bad enough to get benched yesterday, but for a number of reasons, it just isn’t the right time to make a change. For Joe’s and the team’s sake, I hope he gets it figured out
Because if they’re gonna play him I hope he gets better. What else is there to do?Yeah spot on .
But why do some of y’all keep adding that last sentence?
It ain’t gonna happen! We all said that before the season started.
He’s a 6th year guy and the season is half over.
If it ain’t happened by now by George, it ain’t gonna.
He is what we thought he was.
We may see him but we have no idea what Nico will give us. Heupel does. And, he starts Joe. Asi don’t feel like your assessment is accurate… Joe is the 12th rated qb in the SEC ahead of only Devin Leary…. He is also 12th in the SEC in passing yards which puts him behind every starting qb that hasn’t split time.He is 14th in PYA ahead of only Payton Thorne. He is tied for dead last with Will Rogers for TD passes for full time starters.
He has not been accurate… processes slow….. and really poor decision…. The only reason he is in there is bc the staff doesn’t feel that we have viable back up that’s not a true freshman. I have a feeling that is Joe’s ineptness ends up costing us some of these next few road games. We may end up seeing Nico starting before the end of the year.
Best defense since Fulmer. Periodt.I could only watch Q1 from a bar and a play or two here and there the rest of the way.
How did we look? All I've gathered so far is our defense is as good as 2015 if not better and we're 5-1 despite our passing game being our weakness...when that was supposed to be the only thing Heupel could do...
Coaches are playing Joe because they believe he gives us the best chance to win. I never said Joe played well yesterday though he made some nice plays with his legs. They're not playing him because they feel loyalty to him. They are paid to win football games. I am excited to see what Nico can do. I'll wait to see it until CJH thinks he gives us that best chance to win.I’ll take that bet. Nico is special.
Coaches are rewarding Joe for staying the course and being a good teammate. We have a players coach and he wants Milton to succeed. But Nico is still the better QB.
Offense will be elite next year.
Anyone who thinks Joe played well yesterday needs to have their head examined. Defense and special teams won that game. Our QB had two weeks to get better and prepare and threw for 100 yards.
I wish Milton was better and became a top pick. But he is who he is and he isn’t changing.

There were two drives in the 4th quarter with 10 plays. One of them was a touchdown drive by Nico that started at the UVA 40.He threw 3 passes in that “whole “ Quarter.
That’s not the “normal “ offense “.
I don’t think he knows. He didn’t know what Hendon would give us or Joe would of never started over Hendon. We may see him but we have no idea what Nico will give us. Heupel does. And, he starts Joe. As
I mentioned, Heupel is not immune to making mistakes. I will still ride with Joe as long as he does.
Jimmy Holiday and Callaway too. Portal kills depth. How’s walker Merril doing at wake forest and I wonder if he realizes how much PT he’d be getting right now had he been patient and stuck around.
