I can't emphasize enough how significant I think winning a game like that yesterday was. It was not a struggle against Sisters of the Poor. It was a dogfight with a talented SEC team and our ST and DEFENSE carried the day. That is a very big deal.

We had zero passing game and were able to find a way to win. It’s a sign of a great, healthy program being able to win a sloppy game against a highly talented opponent. We lose this game 10 times out of 10 under the previous regimes.

i don’t feel like your assessment is accurate… Joe is the 12th rated qb in the SEC ahead of only Devin Leary…. He is also 12th in the SEC in passing yards which puts him behind every starting qb that hasn’t split time.He is 14th in PYA ahead of only Payton Thorne. He is tied for dead last with Will Rogers for TD passes for full time starters.

He has not been accurate… processes slow….. and really poor decision…. The only reason he is in there is bc the staff doesn’t feel that we have viable back up that’s not a true freshman. I have a feeling that is Joe’s ineptness ends up costing us some of these next few road games. We may end up seeing Nico starting before the end of the year.
Yep. Bench Milton and Nico gets hurt, you are screwed. Milton checks out and your left with Moore.

It’s like they are praying that something finally clicks in his head and his practices turn into games. But it’s not happening.

Here is a blatant PI no-call in the first quarter. DB grabs and holds Nimrod's arm before the ball arrives. A call there likely results in us scoring. Instead we have the play where Joe is indecisive and throws out of bounds on fourth down. That play would have never happened. This is at 24:35 on Freak's replay.

Danielson, who watches multiple cameras the whole time (he does not watch the play directly) HAS to see this. What he does is to tell the viewer to blame Joe. It was a nice touch pass. But Danielson says it was thrown late and Joe should have rocketed it in there. Meaning, if anyone stopped to think about what he was suggesting, that the ball should have been a rope without touch. If that had been the case it would have been a fault, and Gary would have told the viewer that instead. Then Brad says "the Tennessee fans" want PI. As if that is merely a biased view. You can hear the boos.

When they finally show us the view that Gary has had the whole time, we immediately see that the DB has his hand around Nimrod's wrist and is pushing his arm away from the ball, leaving Nimrod one-handed and making a catch impossible. Clear PI no-call in the endzone.

I think no one even talked about this much because Danielson had played to prejudice and convinced the viewer it was Joe's fault. A nice way to dodge the PI at the spot.View attachment 587306View attachment 587307
There were at least 4 PI no calls that was very easily seen. I just don't understand how they never called either of those. It's a shame officials in major college can be this terrible .

Errybody pining for the backup QB. A tale as old as time. When Nico has his struggles next year, and he will, some of you same people will be jumping up and down to give Jake Merklinger a try.
I definitely want to see Nico playing against UCONN. Our running game is fine--any quarterback should be able to hand the ball off- but can Nico be more accurate? think faster? Throw while running?

Milton just doesn’t have a feel for the game. I guess it’s situational awareness. Not knowing the play clock is about to expire, seeing he’s throwing into triple coverage, or even knowing where the 1st down marker is located. Just basic stuff that he’s missing. We will lose games because of it but Nico doesn’t need to be thrown into the fire vs Alabama yet either. Just have to gut it out and hope Joe makes less mistakes for awhile.

That rollout of was inexcusable. There was a moment, albeit brief where he couldve turned up field and gained a few yards. Instead he tries to throw it last second.
And should have thrown to the back corner of the end zone . Glad the ball didn't get tipped and intercepted.

Seriously though nothing beats touchdowns and fireworks and hearing Rocky Top.... but I'm not gonna lie... the atmosphere in Neyland on a big third down is ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE! The noise, the music, the coordination of breaking out Third Down for What... 100k fans on their feet screaming....

Inject that into my veins.

When Tennessee is good... Neyland never disappoints.
Wait, did they really do this yesterday?

We haven't had a lot of garbage time this year unfortunately... UVA was really the only one and he got plenty of meaningful snaps running the offense then. UTSA amd APSU weren't blowouts where the game was never in doubt.
You serious Clark? 😂😂😂😂
He’s threw 5 passes on the season and a few handoff’s!
Plenty of meaningful snaps? 0!

This is spot on. Joe played bad enough to get benched yesterday, but for a number of reasons, it just isn’t the right time to make a change. For Joe’s and the team’s sake, I hope he gets it figured out in the meantime.

Refs are inconsistent on PI calls. They missed at least 2 on us.
I dint understand the holding calls either, every time TN was driving, a flag would come out. I felt A&M didn't get called for any holdings. It's becoming the same story every game.
And a couple of really obvious face masks on us they missed.

Players make mistakes all game long. Coaches make mistakes all game long. So do refs, who make a fraction what the first 2 groups do, but folks expect differently.

Refs will never be what people want them to be. The end of human refs can't come soon enough. And no, it won't "take character out of the game"...it will allow the score to more accurately reflect what actually happened on the field and both the players and coaches DESERVE that much.

Which is an absolutely shocking reality. No one saw the most explosive offense becoming basically the worst at it in one year.

Especially when Joe Milton and the same receivers had more explosive plays in the orange bowl than they did in the first six games of this year.

Next week most certainly NOT a must win… a win would be nice but I’m just looking for a spirited showing and a great game. Tennessee is on track for 9-3 after the Aggie game which would keep the recruiting momentum with a shot at 10 wins. Spirited showing and hanging in there with a lot of fight. No more 10+ point L’s. I think we’ll see that. Defense has to have another great week because Bama defense is pretty dang solid too. Should be a fun game
Given they just beat struggling Arkansas by only 3 at home, I think we have a reasonable chance.

What are we thinking on the spread? +7?
