Firing Phil was absolutely not the mistake....hiring a string of incompetent fool idiots after him was the mistake.

I think firing Phil the year after extending him was a symptom of the problem - dysfunction in the AD that was unable to control fractitious boosters. Which is what led to years of mismanagement and terrible hires.

That’s where I am with it as well..my only problem with him is his offense philosophy..he easily could have had 2 or 3 championships by now but he’s old school and the game has passed him up..it’s only a matter time of time before Phillip Fulmer comparisons start getting thrown around.
