He had already announced his retirement plans for the end of that season. jones is a dirt bag.Jerry handled it badly..but it was time for Tom Landry to retire..loved him as a lifelong Cowboys fan...but the game had surpassed him...
Most of your entire 3rd paragraph is regarding the previous GM, who was fired for his poor decisions. New GM drafted an OL first round and took levis in 2nd. He deserves a chance.Watching the Titans is an exercise in futility.
Not happenin' with this guy. Life is too short for us old guys. Until/if the org changes ownership down through the coaching, IMO there will be brief periods of sunlight following by long, cold, hard winters. The film is in the can for this bunch.
Enki described Levis perfectly IMO. 85% good, 15% devastatingly bad. Which we all knew from watching him at PSU and UK against quality competition. But the Titans took him and Willis before him, who failed at Auburn, instead of building blocks for a competent O-line to protect Tanny and create running lanes for their generational talent RB. There are many other stupid things they have done that could be pointed out like trading Brown, but I don't want to waste any more of my day on idgits.
Appears we will be going OL and WR first 2 rounds in draft. Need Landry to get back to healthy from acl. Will Levis has shown enough flashes for me to say he needs to be the starter going forward. Titans will have AT LEAST 100 mil in cap space and we can get rid of Tannehill, and trade DH to get more draft picks and cap space. We need to invest in a couple of WR’s, OL and a rb in free agency and build on those positions in the draft as well, also picking up a LB and a couple of DB’s would help too
Reminds me of a comedian(can’t remember which one) talking about Tiger Woods cheating… He said he didn’t need criticized for the times he cheated…. He needs commended for the thousands he turned down… The comedian said that his wife was proud of him for being faithful… he said… H&ll , it’s easy when no one wants you.Weren't his grandchildren in the same building for a family gathering that he had just left. Even if I misremembered, it is classless, which is normal behavior for him
There is a point to be proven here and by God we are going g to prove it!Why is there not a UCONN game thread. I need game info. I know I can Google it, but does google really offer better information than VOLNATION ?
Boeheim is one last second shot by Keith Smart in 1987...from being a two time National Champion coach.....the Kentucky game in 1996...nobody was beating that Rick Pitino team it was stacked...They went to more Final 4's in that time period than we ever have. If you get the good years you just have to take your lumps with the bad ones late in their careers imo.
And tried and failed and tried and failed and tried and failed. It has been rinse and repeat over and over for years with the Titans. It wore me out. I moved on.It’s not that they didn’t try to fix it, it’s that they tried and failed.
The fact that they evaluated Dillard and signed him with the intention to start at LT is worrying considering he’s about as nimble as a tackling dummy.
The CB and LB they brought in to start also have been average at best. Couple that with a pretty lackluster draft and it gives me reason to doubt the current staffs ability to evaluate talent and build a roster.
Would be a great game to get those guys some reps. Just hope the pass rush is allowed to do its thing again. Getting dinked and dunked by crap teams is infuriating lol.Sounds like Slaughter, Lally, and Gibson might not be a go this weekend.
Sincerely hope Matthews and Conyer get some snaps and we don’t get 4 quarters of Burrell and Turnage.
You forgot to mention the Titans OL. Specifically 78 getting beat all night. He played at Kentucky, ran his mouth and was overrated hot garbage.
But from the sample size we have as a NFL starter...I think optimism is high on Levis.
41 of 68 60.3% for 500 yards with 4 TDs and 1 INT in 2 games
Tannehill has played 6 games and has just 2 TDs and 6 INTs...
The bigger issues for the Titans are outside of Levis and his play (at least so far). He looked like a Rookie trying too hard on that last drive...but he also drove them twice on the last 3 drives and with some smarter play calling might have gotten another score. I'm a Titans fan though so if he can learn and get better I'm not going to bash the guy too much at this point. I think the Titans should have kept Dobbs and him with a full off-season there would have put them in a far better spot right now than 3-5 with a rookie having to start, but that's not what happened.
I think the Colts and Texans both drafting QBs early is why the Titans reached on Levis. But he has some good pieces around him to learn from (Hopkins/Tannehill/Henry) so I'm playing wait and see. If he reaches full potential I think he's most similar to Brett Favre, which will be frustrating. The gunslinger QB will throw some pretty bombs and also a ton of picks and take too many sacks. But if it means a SB fans will forgive that style of play.
Sounds like Slaughter, Lally, and Gibson might not be a go this weekend.
Sincerely hope Matthews and Conyer get some snaps and we don’t get 4 quarters of Burrell and Turnage.
