When two people become enemies, their 'people' take sides. It's pretty much that simple.

Rumors are that Johnny had demons that alienated people and the administration. Rumors are that Phil betrayed Johnny to get his coaching job. So, you have a group that ignores Johnny's faults, and you have a group that ignore's Phil's.

My take is that Johnny was a deeply flawed man, who was his own worst enemy, but won some games here. Phil was cut-throat to get his shot, won a lot of games here, but was his own worst enemy. He refused to trust his coordinators or hire people smarter than him (probably projecting fears of being treated like he'd treated Johnny), and then became lazy; the program suffered for it.

Johnny probably needed to go when he went, and so did Phil. Shame on the administration for making the program pay for two decades after Phil was fired.

They gave Boston College and NC State a pretty good game. Duke is the only team able to fully pull away from them and completely dominate them. They are run heavy on offense which plays into our hand.

I think this is a good eye-test game for people outside of Tennessee. Like you said, NCSU and BC struggled with them. Duke dominated them. If we dominate them I think that actually looks good for us more than just "oh they beat up on a cupcake".

I do think its interesting to note that Austin Peay is T-1 (3-0) in their conference, ranked #17 in FCS and only losses are UT and #11(FCS) SIU.

UTSA is T-1 (4-0) in their conference.

UConn is 1-7 but they have 4 single-score losses. 10pt loss to NCSU.
FIU - 7
Utah State - 1
USF - 3
BC - 7
Their other two losses were larger margins to Duke and Georgia State.

It's one of those where you don't look at their record you look how they're playing. We need to dominate them.

Still threw for 200 and gave us a chance to win in the end. With a tiny 2 game sample, he's looked very good. Especially compared to his peers in this class.

It's also pretty impressive of the Falcons to be winning their division, have a top 5 defense in YPG, and still be one of the worst teams in the NFL apparently...lol

Winning their division at 4-4 isn’t the flex you thought it was. Their wins are over 1-6 Carolina, 2-5 GB, 3-4 Houston and 3-4 Tampa bay. Losses to Detroit, Jacksonville,Washington and Tennessee.

i think it’s a mixture…. the tighter the windows… the harder it is for joe…. he also struggles with reading his keys to know when to pull it and run… we will probably see huge improvement with Nico if he has a better grasp on the mental side of the game.
