Recruiting Football Talk VII

That comment and concern has zero to do with past regime. I know you're making that correlation though because less penalties didn't lead to wins for them, but in the swamp this year those penalties played a big part in us losing as well as last year in Athens.

No coach or position group is perfect (although Jerry Mack is about as close as anyone).

But I can assure you Elarbee isn't resting on "well hell the last few staffs didn't have penalties and we see where it got them!" he's working his tail off to try and fix the issue so the OL play a clean game each Saturday. I'm not too critical of it, but it's the only real area I think a few stones can be tossed.
I watched way too much NFL football yesterday and saw what real frustrating drive killing TD obliterating malfeasance looks like…from the BEST! We don’t have an “issue”.

1915 stands out because it's so far ahead of its time in terms of design. Although the coke-cola imagery was always there, I had no idea that the designers of "Nuka Cola" in the Fallout series were pulling from 1915. It always looked more post-War post-nuclear holocaust America when we were rocket and space crazy (for those that don't know - Fallout takes place in a post-nuclear war America - the setting is very 1950s and early 60s - cars, diners, houses, gas stations, etc. are pretty much all based on that era - even completely fictional things in that game look like they were designed in that time frame).
What a find an 1899 would be though. 😎

simple question….. Do you think other teams use our non-traditional offense against us or not?
They TRIED. Increasingly lessening results. I think the mythology of our impending death penalty was more effective. That being gone we have generational type talent like Mike Matthews on the way. Let me return your simplicity, think we get guys like him running Chaney’s offense?

No mainstream media outlet wants to get branded with the "y'all a buncha conspiracy nuts" label....hell look on this thread and EVEN our fans do it to the few of us that our shouting it from the rooftops, and presenting LOADS of visual evidence of continous malfeasance on the part of SEC officials..

No wonder they are afraid to...the ONLY evidence is the FACT that it is happening....the naysayers keeps whining about motive...I say **** motive,I don't care about motive.
You hit on it-- evidence that it is happening is not dependent on opinions on why it's happening. There are likely multiple reasons why it's happening, and anything left unchecked can veer out of control. People have biases-- explicit or implicit-- and when officials are allowed to indulge their biases with minimal repercussions and little accountability, they can behave with impunity.

Do you mean, is it a negative recruiting construct from obvious sources that you yourself participate in perpetuating and appear to delight in doing so?
Dude…. i’m an alum…. had season tickets since 1990…. drive four hours back and forth every game….!i went and cheered for every single Wade Houston home basketball game… i attended the majority of Vol baseball games before half of this site even knew we had a baseball team… stop with this good fan/bad fan BS that you try to insinuate. The question was why do we not have more 5* RBs dying to jump on board…. It is my opinion that it won’t happen until we start seeing successful UT players in the pros. It is obvious, imo, that there is a perception that our guys are system players. It doesn’t mean they can’t be successful.!I believe that it is a good thing to be we don’t need NFL players to have one of the best offenses in all of college football.

WTH are you even talking about? i have voiced zero concerns about his coaching or Heup choosing his coaches… I said it is a concern that it appears to this point that he has struggled with recruiting…. it appears that none of them seem ready to offer us anything… Doesn’t mean that we should fire him or those concerns will be relevant by next season…. We should be able to have discussions without all of this constant overreaction.
A retort is an “overreaction”. Nice kingdom you’ve built for yourself.

This, this, this, this.

And something else when it didn't matter. But several of us had predicted a few would be called, because it would hardly matter, and for the purpose of trying to disrupt the obvious and true view that officiating in our games is being seriously and consistently rigged.

This notwithstanding, they were still allowed to hold our DL all day. Some usual reality-deniers went ballistic the other night when McGill starting posting photos of the holds!

Holding our DL with impunity is the book on us. Holding will have to be called early and more than once for someone to even think about desisting in the now standardized and Birmingham-authorized practice.
A few is right. They only had 6 for 28. I think they had one presnap that half the distance, so the intentional grounding probably was only about 3 yards.

You are confusing me with someone that doesn’t like our offense….i wouldnt trade our offense for anything in this world…. He is get Cordarelle Patterson and Justin Hunter…. I am not really thinking of chaney though… i want to get to the point that we become a factory like Georgia or Bama.

I think our staff is doing a great job…. the next step is getting guys in the NFL.

Also let's have a quick check in shall we...

Justin Williams-Thomas: 11 carries for 37 yards in 4 games in his 1st season at UT, left for a bigger role this year at California has played in 2 games for 7 carries and 38 yards...
Walker Merrill: 23 games at UT 13 receptions for 168 yards and 3 TDs, left for Wake Forest has appeared in 6 games and has 0 stats thus far
Jimmy Holiday: 7 receptions 111 yards and 1 TD in his time at UT, left for Western Kentucky has played in 8 games with 14 receptions for 188 yards and 1 TD
Jimmy Calloway: 9 receptions 124 yards and 1 TD in his time at UT, left for Louisville has played in 9 games with 14 receptions for 187 yards and 0 TDs
Len'Neth Whitehead: 32 carries 207 yards and 2 TDs in his 8 games at UT sat out 2022 with injuries and left for Georgia has yet to appear in a game

I remember the accurately-called grounding and seem to myself to recall an accurately-called penalty related to blocking. My point was that there was a tell-tale over-the-top streak of zero post-snap penalties that needed to be broken for appearance sake in a way that was useless to us; and that was accurately predicted here, just as LSU getting jobbed was predicted.

It must be a rule that every show on the SEC Network has to evolve in to a Nick Saban love fest! Trying to watch SEC this Morning and had to turn it off!

They have Milroe as Heisman winner and Bama in the playoffs! It’s sickening!
If Milroe even sniffs the Heisman then all previous Heisman winners should return their trophies to the Heisman committee and tell them that they don't want their garbage trophy that obviously means zilch.

No question was asked. I stated that the HS 5 star RBs need to pay attention and get in the boat. You countered about the system not putting players in the league, I pointed out that UT hasn't had a RB enter the draft in the Heupel era.

Mack is recruiting RB really well though. Dylan Sampson in 2022, Peyton Lewis in the 2024 class.
