Well Georgia already beat Missouri if Missouri beats us just makes the same difference.
It helps GA to have the positive publicity of beating a possible top 10 ten on the road. They need it because of all the negative publicity they got this summer about their strength of schedule.

That was not a horse collar tackle by most people's defintion, at least not as I understood it.

You have to have a hold of the collar (or the top of the jersey) maintain a grip on the collar all the way through the tackle, and the runner has to land on their back or side. In this one, he grabbed him and threw him down by the collar, he didn't hold on to the collar through the entire tackle.

NFL is different, even grabbing it is a foul. I believe college has those 3 components needed for a foul.

LSU did not get a favorable whistle, but it was nowhere near the level of one sided that we suffered through at Bama. I'd even argue it was a typical home whistle that most home teams enjoy and nothing worse.

Other than that no call on targeting. That was nuts.
There is nothing that I found in the college rule that suggests the grab has to be maintained through the tackle. But Daniels was tackled by two hands grabbed by the collar.

I think it's more of a philosophy thing. Just like the rule doesn't technically say you can't have DPI on an uncatchable pass.

If you do tax law, it's like an IRS ruling. The tax code may not be specific on a certain matter, but the IRS will issue a ruling that says "here's how we interpret the law, even though the law doesn't exactly say this."

Wrong. He didn’t pull him down he slung him forward and if you want to get technical the other defender makes contact during the tackle which also negates the horse collar.
I know you are an official, but the tackle was made by grabbing the collar with both hands. I guess you are debating “immediately pulling him down” part of the rule, but he was tackled by the collar grab. If he grabs the collar to slow him down, and then tackles him around the waist, then I understand. But the force of the grab caused him to go down. In the argument for player safety, I don’t see how that tackle can be defended.

How do you sling him forward by grabbing someone from behind?

By grabbing on , holding and spinning him around as you pull what you’re holding onto and the momentum because both were running full speed in that direction carried them forward.

The other defender making contact has no bearing on whether the first defender committed a penalty.

Y’all are trying hard as hell to find some technicality to say an obvious horse collar was not a horse collar.
Must work for the SEC or something

This was infinitely worse than the hit on Daniels and was actually targeting.
Whats really wild is you know the refs have Turners track record well document.Dude is making them look shi**y at their jobs.I know if he got my ass chewed by everyone, you breathe on the qb I'm throwing your ass out, much less injure him!

Now for them not to call that on the field, there just isn't any possible way he's getting away with that if anyone in power actually gave a sh*t..they have been blowing sabans wienie whistle and forgetting to blow the one on the field
