They signed up knowing the rules the member schools of D1 football had previously agreed upon. You don't just join the big leagues and dictate rule changes.

Granted, yes the rule being there itself is maybe stupid. I've heard both sides of arguments...idk...but I'd side with stupid rule built by the incumbent schools to ensure a tougher barrier-to-entry by lower level programs.

But these folks sadly have no room to complain at this point. That's adult life.

I just dont really understand why the rule is needed.

I’m going out on a limb and really don’t know. It might have something to do with what Josh whispered to dork after the game last year after we ran up the score. . We were still playing for something at that point. Sorta like “this is just business’.

The only folks I still know that have SEC loyalty are boomers that remember when it was a 2nd rate league.

Let's hope it returns to that very soon!
