The conference suspended him not the NCAA…. Jim agreed to accept the punishment and the Big Ten agreed to close the case. I bet nothing much comes from the NCAA as well.
The NCAA wants Michigan in the playoffs. The comp here is stalling forever on their Kansas basketball fake "investigation." That time they went so far as to have another body (in a "convenient" and unprecedented maneuver) do the dirty work, so they could wash their hands of it. Oh wait, that's what they did this time too.

I have stated from the beginning that the B1G action would serve the purpose of aiding Michigan. It did.

I mean, the evidence that's in public domain already is pretty damning. You don't really need any more evidence. Best case, Harbaugh and Michigan lacked control of the program and people were spending school resources to cheat without their knowledge. I think we all know that's a pretty unlikely scenario, but even in that best case, they deserve a pretty hefty punishment.
Absolutely. It's the problem of certain teams being granted cheat with impunity status. [Clearly throat] Bama, for example.

The NCAA organization itself doesn't materially profit off it vs another team making it...

and the members of said organization I'd guess would be just as hungry to penalize them as the Big Ten themselves.

This idea that the whole of CFB programs would want to let a cheater get away is beyond me (assuming they cheated according to the current rules and within the jurisdiction of their organizing body's rule).

I mean idk if they can or can’t but that would be pretty unprecedented as far as I’m aware.
They can do anything they want. Lawless country. Lawless sport. Sure Michigan can file a suit, but the situation is then completely reversed: Michigan misses the playoffs while the stall occurs.

Besides the scale of Michigan's signal stealing was unprecedented. So tit for tat.

If Small comes back...and he probably is leaning that way unless he's tired of the injuries...then he'll definitely be in the rotation. I think this season has shown that they're willing to move Small down the depth chart. He's a productive player, so I would be happy to see him back. I also think Omari comes back if Small is back.
JMO, having Small back would be huge for the offense. Without him, it’s Sampson, a few guys with no experience, and a freshman or two. A reliable vet to spell Sampson, fill in if there’s an injury, and help with the young guys would be massively valuable.

Continue to be surprised by the one-sided argument that the fault lies with defense and not offense (not here, but on 247 today). Offense is currently 36th nationally, defense is 29th. Surely there's an in-between(?).

Our offense has declined by over 14 ppg YoY. Now, we came off a #1 offense last season, so the magnitude is lessened, but regardless is a sizeable adjustment.
Offense needs to be better, but in our losses, defense is the biggest culprit. Defense has given up 99 points in three losses. Offense has scored a combined 43 points in those losses. But the defense has spent too much time on the field, and the continuously running clock has taken time away from the offense. That's why I hate the new clock rules. Teams sustain drives on our defense and bleed clock. But yes, both sides need to do better.

Any idea how Omari has graded out this season? I'm curious what his NFL stock might look like, and whether or not another year will improve it or not. Regardless, I could see Small coming back simply because I don't think he has an NFL future. If for no other reason because of his injury history. But for that same reason, I could see him deciding to hang up his cleats and move on.

We have to have better and more offensive depth. Period. Recruiting has to be better.

That was the explicit purpose of Sabey's new rule. 😂 It was well noted here when he proposed and campaigned for it.

85 points*. 2 were defensive TD’s by the other team, which comes out to 28PPG. Which is not nearly as bad as people on this board wanna make it seem. Defense got an INT on mizzou’s first drive and put the offense in mizz territory. Followed it up with a 30 second 3 and out

It’s odd Joe Milton and Banks get 99% of the blame when it’s all around

I kind of thought suspending Harbaugh was them helping Ohio State. He can't be on the sideline when they play a week from Saturday.
