Recruiting Football Talk VII

So what's the statute of limitations on complaining about portal transfer recruiting from prior years?

If you see a trend it’s worth noting.

Five year rebuild.

Like I mentioned, it’s still early this cycle but to gain confidence in our coaches strategy I’d like to see some upgrades by the end.

So one class, 2022, is what you’re judging the high school o line recruiting on? Do you think that’s fair? Or should we also include the class that’s about to sign as well, or maybe see if Sham, Larry Johnson (you mentioned Lang) need more than 8 months of college football to give out a verdict?

Just seems like you’re letting this Addison Nichols news skew your view of the coaching/recruiting job overall
I see other programs across the P5 play true freshman up and down the line. Do I expect Ollie Lane and Dayne Davis playing meanfully snaps in year 3, absolutely not. Do I expect to have at least 1 guy we recruited from HS to be at least in the 2 deep at this point, absolutely.

Are we not going portal heavy for starters if our super seniors don't return?

Do we not take way too many "projects"?

These are all fair questions and why I stated I was concerned.

Just curious, how many SEC teams started true freshmen on the OL? We haven’t recruited at that level yet.

Without looking it up, Bama start a RT this year. LSU started two Tackles last year. USCjr started a center and a guard (I think) last year as well. Let me verify real quick.

If it's so subjective, why do folks like Jerry Palm nail it almost every year?
Lol. I clearly said it is less subjective.

And every year people complain about seeding and the “eye test”.

Point is, and was, that it’s an “analytics and eye test” process - which was the original complaint about the CFB process.
