It just pisses me off that Deion is selling bigotry, and kids are buying it. If I were a white coach on his staff, or one of his white players, I'd be extremely uncomfortable with this. Not sure how the white administration is comfortable with this. And if Deion is not behind the rhetoric spouted by Seaton, he should speak up and correct the young man. When you make it us vs, them based on the color of one's skin, that's wrong no matter which direction it flows and should not be deemed acceptable by society.
Hopefully the young men we are recruiting are smart enough to see past that low brow stuff, which is what it is. It really is ignorance.

Whut? Where did all this bigotry stuff come from? Sure looks like I missed something, but I'm equally sure I'm not gonna go back looking for it.

Looking at every playoff team gives me the sads. The weakest pool in some time...2022 Vols w/ Hooker wrecks these teams 😑

2022 CFP for context:
UGA +27 ppg
Michigan 24
OSU 23
TCU 15

2023:
Michigan +27
Texas 19
Alabama 19
Washington 14

UT 2022 with an ABSURD schedule and including 2.5 games & bowl game with backup:
+24 ppg

At least we’re not Florida. 14 guys in the portal, 4 decommits from good recruits in the past month.

That’s usually where Tennessee is in year 3 of a coach

We can count our blessings we are headed into a winnable Citrus bowl and fourth season with an elite 5-star QB instead.

Nice change and I will take it.

Not just about one recruit but what once seemed a very promising/likely top 5-8 class turned into an average (for Tennessee) class in the home stretch.

That isn't enough to get you over the hump. I like this class, had some strong recruits and good depth. But we are still waiting on the class, or stack of classes that will have us competing for the conference.

See I disagree on the last point. I think if Nico is who we think he is, we can complete for the conference soon. Maybe not in 2024, but by 2025 that’s my expectation.

We aren’t setting ourselves up to win 12+ games a year into perpetuity, but we are setting up to be very competitive most years.

wasn’t the rumor that Hunter received a million dollars?
What a sad rumor...$1mm for the #1 overall and a 2-way generational talent lol

Nico got $8mm...for context. Sounded like Mauigoa probably got multiple millions

Can't believe anyone would think Jackson St or Colorado are pouring money into NiL at a level above top programs 😅🤣 On3 ranked their tops this past Summer and Colorado wasn't even top-25 🤣

But whatever makes folks feel better about it and ignore what's right in their face.

okay so---

Seaton-- wants big bag
Wells-- wants big bag
Nolan-- wants big bag
probably 3-4 more we are potentially on --- want a big bag

Everyone says our NIL Collective is one of the best in the country.

We've already missed on several key guys this recruiting cycle because they apparently wanted too big of a bag than we were able or wanted to give them.

If we miss on Seaton and Wells, then folks need stop with the "we don't overpay" and "our NIL is one of the best" crap. We don't have the funds.

Only other excuse to give is "we have the funds, we just don't want to use them on those kids/positions"... okay, then we will go with what we've got. BUT, next season when other schools have chosen to hand over those "bags" and upgraded with day 1 difference makers and this staff has chosen to roll with what they got, then this staff has ZERO excuses when and if we get out-performed on the field and take some L's. Can't have it both ways.
Too many bags, in the locker room, is not a good idea

What a horrible day. Just got a call from my bank's fraud prevention, and apparently someone got ahold of my debit card info. Not sure how since I'm pretty protective of the thing, but they racked up hundreds of dollars in fraudulent transactions. Had to file a charges dispute and cancel my card. Now I have to try and wake up early tomorrow so I can go get a new card before I take my mom to the hospital for surgery. Yay.

First world problems.

I had a real feeling the kid (Seaton) was playing us...but I was hoping he had some sense...this doesn't necessarily mean the kid doesn't have sense though...I can see how he could see it being a good opportunity.

If Deion continues to lose 7-8 games, he will get bored and quit or get fired and the kid can transfer to a great program at that point with a shot at a title...on the other hand if Deion does well and uses that success to land a gig at a real power player...then the kid can go with him and have a shot at a title that way...

Either way he probably sees this as massive publicity that he can capitalize on and still go somewhere else later if he needs to.
Deion getting bored is key here. He was all about the circus surrounding Colorado at the beginning of the season, up front and selling it! Then got quieter as the losses mounted up except to blame his OL publicly. I maybe in the minority, but he’s not about the kids that play or pledge to play for Colorado. He’s a marketing machine about limelight on the only thing that sales that program, himself.

That’s about as solid of a proven resume as you’re ever hoping to get if you’re Tennessee. Plus relatively still younger at 52… best non championship coach out there.

This is the second time it’s happened too. First time was talking about how people are intimidated by seeing a successful black man.
Another first as I didn't know about this either. No sour grapes and not taking his comments into consideration, we have a very limited time with Nico. Not saying Seaton won't start as a freshman, but I have to think the money he was asking might not be better spent going after guys who are ready to play right now. It would have been great to have him and watch him develop, but at this point, I'm fine portaling for OL. Should be able to get a few guys for what Seaton was asking.

I doubt Colorado outbid Oregon,Tennessee and Ohio St. I am sure he is making big money, but the ones where money is the sole factor especially this early in life is not a good sign most of the time. However I think it’s just like he said he prefers a black coach and that is fine but using race to recruit players is over the top and could come back to bite you. Why bring race into it just go play for Dion and Colorado and leave it at that. GBO
