Recruiting Football Talk VII

Winning 11 in 2022 and going to 2 less wins per season in 2023 and again in 2024 would look pretty bad on the outside. But that schedule is brutal. I’ll say it’s probably 8 next year. 9 in ‘25 assuming the schedule is just as brutal. Breakout in ‘26 if recruiting picks up.
That '21 class was a killer. Having said that, it's getting harder to keep using it as an excuse with the portal available. I'm not throwing in the towel on this years portal, but right now, I'm not seeing a lot of really encouraging moves. Still time, but if our aim is to get high character kids with multiple years left to develop, I have to question the lack of attention to this coaching staff. Who is going to develop our young secondary kids? Who will turn Ethan Davis into a possible NFL draft choice? Dunno, but I'm starting to have some shaky feelings in regard to Heupel's abilities as a head coach. Great OC and QB coach, but I'm seeing some things that concern me....not that it matters one iota.

Ahh try again. You cherry pick 1 post that wasn’t directed at me. Vol423 had replied to me earlier in the night about it, hence my comments. Got anything else to be wrong about?
Actually, I gave three examples that show my point.

You @ed Vol423 when he had nothing to do with the post you replied to.

You inserted your insult into a conversation between two other people.

You @ed two other posters while replying to OB.

Wasn't a matter of someone replying to you, or directing comments for you to respond to.

You definitely seem to take other peoples' support of Titans personal. That's OK. Rock it, if that's you.

I'll say 7 wins next season. Without seeing the schedule for '25, it's hard to say. I'd hope that the addition of another class to the roster and clearing out the last of the Pruitt remnants would see us in the 8-9 range in '25.
Next season is 9+ wins unless Nico gets hurt. We get almost our entire OL back and Squirrel and Thornton. We pick up a portal TE and another WR and we are pretty loaded on offense. For D, our LBs are experienced our DL mostly remains in tact. The only concern is the overhaul on the DBs and Safeties.

I see us as favorites against all the teams except Georgia, Bama and possibly Oklahoma.

It's competition though, in it to win it ...

NO MERCY for competition at any age.....

But I did get voted out as grasscutters football coach years ago..lol

Because I was too HARD ON THEM ...
i’m competitive as well…. i benched my son in 5 yr old soccer one year.

I think it’s probably 8 with 4 straight losses to Florida, UGA, Bama and Oklahoma.

Yes. We play all four of them in a row. Insane.

Is reading difficult for you? I just said I @ vol423 because of him @‘ing me earlier. BoT just caught a stray in my @ to vol423 since he was dissing em earlier with a bad take.

Nothing is personal here. You seem to take it personal tho. Try again

Good. Glad you wasted your money buying merch of a team you weren’t a real fan of anyway
Been a fan since they moved to Tennessee, but they continue to demonstrate they are not at all interested in winning. Drafting a pick 6 machine was the final straw.

🤦🏼‍♂️ Good grief man, that's a bit much. Who cares, its a game?
it ended up funny…. the guy stopped the game three times for protests…. one for one of our coaches sitting on a bucket… once bc i said those things to him and one on a call that he didn’t know the rule….we were out of pitchers but only played two innings bc he kept stopping the game…. He cost his team the win. He was also the one that called the commish and not the umps.

Again, you weren’t a real fan to begin with if that is what made you “not a fan” anymore.

You’ll be ok

There's a massive difference between coaching 7 year olds and 17 year olds. Winning a little league game is amongst the least important things in life. Teaching kids to love sports and have good sportsmanship is massively important at that age though.

Will Levis has looked much better than anyone expected him to with an ass offense around him. Weird time to be out on the Titans tbh, especially after last night.

Sorry, but I can't see 9 wins on this schedule. First, we have 4 sure losses in UF, Bama, UGA and OU. Second, I'll believe road wins when I see them. NC St is a "neutral site" in Charlotte and @Arky are 2 huge opportunities, but away from Neyland? Nah. I'd hope for a split of those 2 games and hope we can hold serve at home. 7 is about right......assuming our portal prospects remain as they appear a this point in time. Now if they go out and fill our needs with really good players, my confidence level goes up by a game....maybe 2.

I went and watched some highlights of the guy from Kentucky last night and I think people might be overlooking him a little bit. He’s a pretty athletic TE for his size. Seems faster and much more athletic than Jacob Warren JMO.
Haven’t you been paying attention for the past 12 hours, no one from Kentucky can be good at football.

I think Dingle would actually be a better compliment to Ethan Davis than Staes….different body types and skill sets.

Imagine being able to keep Dingle inline to block while splitting Davis out wide. Either run the ball or toss it out on a WR screen with a lead blocker….matchup nightmare.

The schedule I looked at didn’t have dates. I feel better not playing those four back to back. But they are all still probably losses. Arkansas will be pretty bad. Should win. NCST could beat us for sure. I’m pretty set on 8. Feel like we should win every game that isn’t the big 4.
