This was a discussion on Basilio earlier this week. Basically boiled down to how the most successful teams in the SEC upgrade players and assistant coaches if they aren’t performing. Once you realize something isn’t working you have to make a change. If you don’t make a change the league figures out the weakness, exploits it, and starts the downward spiral for that head coach. Status quo will not work for Tennessee.

By now, UGA and Alabama would have fired CWM and replaced many of the secondary players through the portal. We’ve recruited and developed well on the DL. Why can’t we make some changes so the secondary has the same success?

Saban replaced like 5-6 assistant coaches in 2018 or so because recruiting class finished 5th lmao

My daughter is a freshman. She did not get in until very late. But she works very hard. She had a 3.4 GPA first semester and I am very, very proud. I hope your daughter loves it as much as mine does.

Our class started great. So great people assumed we were going to finish in the top 5. It has been awhile since we got great news but I think the class is better than good.

Why do people CHOOSE to look at everything through the most miserable perspectives possible.

"13th in the country, nice... now how can I make this look bad?"

Find me the difference in numerical average between 4th and 8th. We're actually higher than LSU and less than a point from the other 4-7. With scholarship reductions our total will inevitably be lower. If we get McKinley we jump.

Compare our recruiting now versus the recent past. Our average recruit is higher rated now than anytime since Fulmer probably. We've had more 5 stars in Heupel's classes than the last couple eggheads combined.

There's a million things you can look at and be pleased with and happy about, but y'all choose to nitpick the bad.

10 days ago JS was a 3-star "project" with baggage you didn't want. You and others were questioning why we were entertaining him.

Between then and now, he gained a huge ranking jump into the Top 10 in TN as a 4-star. In came the offers and interest from bigger schools. You were *crickets*.

He commits to Mizzou signing day eve and you contort it into a loss and indictment on the staff. Saying we got "beat" for a top notch recruit.

If you're going to be something, be consistent. Other than consistently Eeyore.

It's totally plausible that, considering we are super close on our numbers, JS was a contingency option if McCoy didn't commit. It's possible his drama-queen handler was more trouble than he's worth, or was asking for more money than he's worth.

Without a definitive statement from someone who knows the situation intimately, how can we say (or believe) Mizzou swooped in and stole him rather than we didn't want him that badly to begin with?
