I’m going to assume this was just a discussion prompt, and not a serious question.Do you think Mickey Mantle would make it in the MLB if he played versus today's athletes?
Truth on the only post season game I watch, but Florida State players are jumping ship post season while they got disrespected in the playoffs selection just shows they are mercenaries, and I have no respect for a player that doesn’t stand up for their team and teammates. I know, samesee on posts basically. Before anyone of you posts something about their future, it starts with the school you sign with and have allegiance to or that’s what it use to be.If you want to prove you belong you don’t opt out. But bowl games are meaningless. I used to watch every one even if I had to constantly change the channel. Now the only post season game I watch is Tennessee.
It’s tone deaf to imply that athleticism and/or skillsets were invented after 1980 or later. Chamberlain, Alcindor/Abdul-Jabbar, Oscar Robertson, Elgin Baylor…your aforementioned Mantle, Gehrig, Christy Mathewson, Walter Johnson, Warren Spahn, Hank Aaron, Willie Mays, Jim Brown, Roger Staubach… great in any era and even better with modern training and medicine along with year round development. Our favorite former the Athletic writer who got ran off the Vols beat, tweeted a couple of years ago that after one quarter of being guarded by Patrick Beverley, Pete Maravich would have quit the game of basketball. Maravich was a quicker Steph Curry and Luka Doncik with more range along with generational playmaking capabilities…stuck in an era with no 3 point line that emphasized feeding the low post above all else. Delusion is timeless.I’m going to assume this was just a discussion prompt, and not a serious question.
Mickey Mantle had 4 second speed to 1st base - paired with 500 ft power from both sides of the plate. He could do things in any era.
Guys like Mickey Mantle & Bo Jackson weren’t made in a lab, they’re not the effect of hard work in the gym. What they are can’t be re-created.
They’re the result of the Thunder Gods reaching down and touching them at birth.
As a Kiffy hater I hope all the transfers create NIL envy for the rest of the team and it blows up in his face. Be impossible to require character from his team with a straight face. The time for him to win at Ole Miss is now, their schedule next year is about as easy as it’s gonna get and when you factor in the talent already on the roster it makes sense to go all in for 2024.
It is certainly delusional. And lazy. It’s tone deaf to imply that athleticism and/or skillsets were invented after 1980 or later. Good to see you POA.View attachment 604978Added to my collection today . I bought my kids some cards so I had to get myself some as well. Got the 21/25 Kamara card and a pack of the UT NIL cards. Out of that pack I found the Sampson auto
