If these youngsters were ready, I don't think we'd be looking to pull in 2-3 OL for next year. They'd take those youngsters and the starters they've reportedly paid to return and roll with them in year 1 of Nico. No, it's clear this staff sees a need hence the portal hosses visiting.

It's my opinion Banks can't take a group of players and mold them into a good defensive unit. Heupel doesn't need the best players to put together a really good offense. It's the old more than the sum of the parts. I think for $2mil we can get a coach that can do that. When Heupel was hired I was intrigued because while he wasn't a splash hire, he was a coach that I perceived that could do more with less. I thought that was exactly the type of coach we needed. After three years, I'm convinced coach Banks doesn't have that ability.

Because we are fahring coaches and whining about players that aren't even technically part of our team going forward. Obviously, we have more important axes to grind.

Decades ago I almost bought a practice there when I left the military. Being a country boy, it was just too "city" for my tastes. Also love snow and it was too darned "south" for my tastes.

That's just half the battle. Many of these guys-- like Heard-- have other demands. Heard really wants to play LT and UT needs him at RT. That's the scenario he left at LSU-- and the same scenario UT grew tired of with Mincey. And Heard wants to shop around and see what's out there. So we'll see.

Pulling for you. Unfortunately, the wife hates the cold and snow. Putting down new roots....and undoubtedly my last planting...in an area where falls and winter will be a distant memory. Pops always told me there would be a day where my aging body would hate the cold. Starting to look like that gene skipped me. Seriously, after winning a bowl game 35-0 the main topic has been about the belief that the DC “will not” work out. If he doesn’t then the coach will get the best replacement he can. Should be easier with having more talent available and out of the NCAA mess to get someone to come. Then we can thank Banks for all the effort and hard work he put into making Tennessee better.

Now let’s talk about Pearce and West and Nico and plays! Just think of now compared to 3 years ago!

I don't recall I've been wrong about any of them. With the hires made, it really hasn't been all that difficult.

Why was their thinking geared towards wasting eligible seasons? Two of the games that season, (Duke and I forget the other) he went in for two SNAPS. This after he had put Jalen Hurts in enough games to cost him one knowing he was departing after the season. Ended up needing him to win the SEC Championship game, but enough finessing and Hurts has the option of following up his one season at Oklahoma…and maybe wins the Heisman instead of Kyler Murray. Bottom line, he doesn’t have his players best interests at heart and goes the polar opposite if he thinks they’re leaving him.

Yep and he knows they are stuck because if they try to preserve that redshirt, they are perceived as putting themselves before the team.
