He inherited a program with a top 10 roster coming off of NY6 bowl win and conference championship appearances. He’s done a solid job up to this point but hasn’t proven anything or upgraded the situation he inheritedJMO, Lanning’s resume is pretty light, especially for Bama. Success as DC at GA under Smart with an NFL defense isn’t super impressive, it’s expected. Cristobal left Oregon in a pretty good spot, and for a defensive guy, Oregon has given up a bunch of points to anyone with a pulse.
Maybe he’s great but I don’t see him as some obvious slam dunk.
FYP. Please don’t make that mistake again.Do each conference winner get in? Answer is top 6 ranked conf champs get in. Can I first say that’s dumb as hell. The only two conference winners that should be auto bids are SEC and Big Ten at this point.
That said, I’ll have to go: Vols* (13-0) Oregon* (12-1), OSU (11-2), Bama (11-2), Arizona* (12-1), Michigan (10-2), Texas (10-2), FSU*(11-2), Ole Miss (10-2), UGA (10-2), Boise State* (11-2), UTSA* (12-1).
Outside Looking In: Kansas State #2 in Big 12 (11-2), Kansas (10-2), LSU (9-3), Washington (9-3), Clemson #2 ACC (10-3), Notre Dame 9-3 independent, Mizzou (9-3), Penn St (9-3), NCST (9-3), Liberty* (11-2)
Notable teams missing: OU (rough welcome to SEC), USC (rough welcome to big 10)
* denotes conf champ
We smoke everyone at home. Have for years. The problem is away from home. Same for football, we just don't show up on the road like we do at home.This forum is just full of misery...we smoke Ole Miss and have basically a complete game.
36 pages to that thread, but bad 1st half and a tough road loss (which most regular bball fans thought could happen) and that thread is at 69 pages and counting....
I don't get it man, why do our fans only wanna show up to bitch & moan and complain about our team/coaches? Frustrates me to no end.
FAIRWEATHER FANS
I was thinking we'd probably be a 7 or 8 loss team this year...and last nights game was the 6th toughest on the schedule in SRS. I feel like we really need to go undefeated going into the game at Rupp. Bama will be a tough out, but we play them here at TBA and they don't have a big that's really dominate like we seem to struggle with.
I'd love to talk to the puppet masters who parade the starlet of the week out and continue to do it successfully. No musical talent required, no song writing ability required, and yet they turn them into musical, cultural celebrities over and over again. It's really remarkable, and also sad that our society eats it up so readily.It’s weird that a universe exists where people care about Selena Gomez.
Because in your post your rhetoric to my take on MSST was kind of like us last year, and I was pointing out they don't have the SOS or wins we did last year in non conference.
I'm surprised MSST is that high, their schedule doesn't look anything crazy.Hrm...maybe I was confusing in my reply.
Their SOS -this year- is 6th in conference, but their results are the best (12 wins) of the top 6.

Auburn is 7th and 13-2), Kentucky is 8th and 12-2. So my point was that this year Miss State is a top 4 team based on SOS vs results.
We could be argued as a mid-tier team just as much as Miss State...and I pointed to where we finished last year to support that point. This year I feel like not enough games have been played to assign tiers to anyone yet really.
