Has it dawned on the Bama cult yet that Saban lied to the face of every new player in their program?

Had he told the team he was returning?

Or mean it was likely he told recruits he'd be around their 3-4 years? Would explain why so many found speedboats in a hurry.

That said...I have a hard time seeing a way around it unless you already have a surefire replacement on your own staff. Out of the hundreds of coaches out there, across all sports, Barnes might be the single name I could see bucking this and just riding with whoever wants to come for his last season or two. Will also help that bball transfers can easily fill that gap. I could see him doing that. But no football coaches if I'm being honest. Reverend Dabo would find a way to do the opposite.

Alabama fans have been spoiled, privileged, and entitled.

It is not the program that makes Alabama elite the last 15-20 years. It’s the coach, Nick Saban. Alabama fans are delusional that Alabama is its own level and “the chosen one”.

Sure, Alabama has the resources to be capable of it and with Saban, it happened. Good for them. But let’s not pretend that Saban would not have replicated his success at several other SEC schools (LSU, Florida, Tennessee, Georgia, Auburn). Saban was a once in a generation coach that was a fit for his era and Alabama was blessed to have him.

At UT, we have dealt with our share of bad coaches, and bad coaches do not matter, even with the resources in place. We experienced that at UT. Other programs have too.

The time has come for Alabama fans to be humbled, and we are all here for it. I hope for their sake that DeBoer isn’t a dud. Otherwise, they’re gonna know what it’s like.

That took a turn at the end. I absolutely hope he’s a dud. I hope they wander in the dark for 2 decades and we beat them every year during that time by an average score of 45-13

Will be VERY interested to see where Bama lands on the Team Talent Composite this summer.

They've been #1 all but 2 years since its inception in 2015...

At this rate (and only because they started at such an insanely high place) I'm guessing the 2nd tier...around 4th to 5th.

To make it simple - just go by how many bluechips each team has. Bama has had 70-75 each of the last 4 years (#1 each year). The #5 team has had 49+ each of those years. It appears to me Bama is losing a dozen or more non-seniors (from that graphic). Throw in a few more from their recruiting class, but assume the rest make it in and restock pretty well. The outgoing players will also open up spots for the Spring portal but I don't see Deboer tampering like Saban would've.

Let's say they lose 18 total and drop to 56 bluechips. Likely #4. But still a big dropoff. The gap between tier 1 and tier 2 has been so huge the last decade, it can't be understated how important Alabama's talent drop is.

Facing them every year could be closer to facing TAMU, LSU, Texas talent. Think Heupel can handle that just fine year in and year out.

They weren't worried about the state of college football when they raided GaTech for their best RB, bragged about taking UGA's best WR, stole Vandy's best OL, the list goes on and on

But now that they have to play by the same rules as everyone else, it's just wrong!! Oh no!!

Bama literally think the rules should change to benefit them now that they are at a disadvantage. Spoiled entitled senseless pricks.
