I agree about getting fussed (but not cussed) at for going to the competition but I don’t about the “kid” shield. Making money doesn’t change you from a kid to a ”grown-ass” man or woman.

I think it does. You accept that by taking the money and being a legal adult. It's no longer amateurism. The athletes asked for this system. It comes with good and bad.

Yes. It’s strange to assume something you don’t know. That should be patently obvious. Of course, assuming anything is usually wrongheaded. Why not assume that the kid doesn’t want to go from California to Pennsylvania to go to college? Oh right…because I don’t know the kid or have any notion of what his priorities are.

And if you don’t think Anthony Munoz is on the same planet as Archie Manning or LaVar Arrington, I don’t know what to tell you. Munoz is an NFL HOFer. The other 2 are not.

But why does it matter if they’re on the same planet? You seem to have manufactured an argument out of whole cloth that a player is more likely to follow his dad to a university if dad was a great player there than if he was an average player. The opposite may actually be true, given that it’s more difficult to live up to dad’s shadow if he was great.

I’m curious how old you are. I followed Manning’s recruitment closely. This source-less opinion isn’t accurate.

However, it is true that there was a variable that kept him from going to Ole Miss. Had Cooper not had to quit football, he’d have attended Ole Miss so they could play together. That’s been stated by the Mannings.
