The offense doesn’t get points for carrying the ball out of bounds. They get points for carrying it across the goalline.

They don’t lose possession for fumbling it out of bounds. They lose possession for fumbling across the goalline.
I know what the rule is...I f'n hate it and always have, so you can say that 💩 a million times and I will still believe it is a stupid rule.

see, if i was ever good enough to play college football...that very well could have been my commitment video.

not a decision, a calling? are you kidding me?

BOOM!

6'5" 190lb, hopefully he can add some weight this upcoming off-season and keep it on. Get him next Spring as an Early Enrollee around 200-205lbs and let him have a RS year.

Future is bright, hopefully having a top 3 ranked QB will help the momentum for the '25 class. If that's a top 10 fringe top 5 class we could be really looking good in Nico's 3rd year. A little weird 247 only has 6 5 stars in their 2025 composite class...usually there's 25-30.

Because there's no other penalty that severe and extreme. It stands alone as an outlier where every other rule and penalty is balanced against each other.

And because it makes no sense that you keep the ball at the 1 inch line if it goes out of bounds there, but you lose the ball and you effectively get a 20 yard penalty if the ball goes out 1 inch farther. 1 inch shouldn't make that much of a difference, no other rule in this sport or any other has such a drastic change based on one inch.
So should you get 5 points if you get stopped on 4th down at the 1 inch line. Fair is fair.

Only alternate FAIR ruling to me MIGHT be a reverse safety.

So whoever loses a fumble while in legal possession and it goes out of bounds in either endzone gives up a safety.

OR the other team gets the ball at the point of the fumble. That is reviewable anyway.

Can’t believe i am discussing this but they obviously hit pretty hard…. the other girl feet came off the ground after contact… I don’t see how anyone can make a definitive statement one way or the other.

Reserving judgment until Sankey tries to use this as a pretext to levy ever more draconian penalties against field rushing.
