What the heck does fair mean? Historically accurate tourney record has too many variables to assess responsibility for the outcomes of games that ended each run. Under performing players, over performing players, long rebounds, answered prayers, and yes even game changing calls and no calls by the refs. I bet the AD, coaches and players have a better handle on root causes of each loss. Sometimes it is just bounces of the ball don’t run statistically true at important junctures of the game.I don’t think his lack of tourney success is an unfair criticism. He’s undoubtedly underperformed in the NCAA tournament, based on the success of the rest of his career.
But now I’ve started hearing from his detractors (I didn’t expect it from Jack, but ya know): “yeah sure, but the team would suck without Knecht.” Ok, but we do have Knecht. It’s what you’ve been asking for…a guy that can break droughts and get his own shot when everyone else’s shots aren’t falling.
Mine was a cabin cruiser. Probably should've just got a bass boat or a pontoon boat. . . or a house boat, or a raft. . . anything would've been better for us.surely you know what BOAT stands for. Gotta know that’s a possibility going into it. Brand, owner care and gentleness of drive, and environment play big roles in the upkeep and life span. My parents have had a ski boat (a Regal) for 2 decades and I think the biggest repair they’ve done is replacing/upgrading the leather seats.
Does Barnes postseason record differ from other coaches who have also had a long career while coaching at a consisntently high level? I've never looked at the numbers but if they are in line with his contemporaries, that would be a fairly good indicator of how legitimate a point people have when they say he underperforms. Variables or not. What the heck does fair mean? Historically accurate tourney record has too many variables to assess responsibility for the outcomes of games that ended each run. So justifying agenda consistent attacks on a coach is just unproductive noise. Stupid turnovers, wrong shots taken, shots not taken, forced use of timeouts, fouling jump shooters, not stopping the ball, etc. are not on coaches, anymore than game winning, assists, shots, blocks, steals and accepting charges are.
Does not change most games are decided on the court, not the bench. Those wanting to hang their hat on wins and losses don’t TYPICALLY want to discuss the number of times he put his players in late season situations. That is much more a body of work analysis, rather than a bounce or two of the ball in A game that ends a run.Does Barnes postseason record differ from other coaches who have also had a long career while coaching at a consisntently high level? By “fair,” I mean: “not unreasonable.” But I’m not gonna spend time arguing that side of things. If you want to get into that, just wait until we trail by more than 6-7 points in any game Barnes coaches and you’ll have more than enough people in here willing to hash that out with you. What the heck does fair mean?
