Want to actually and truly make it fair in recruiting? Stop having double secret rules and make it all legal from a pay perspective. Then state laws like Missouri's don't give them an advantage. The only ones not inducing are the ones that cannot afford it. That will not change the if it is legal or illegal.

I don't think Stewey knows what he's talking about, or I don't. Am I wrong in thinking for all intents and purposes that Spyre is NOT a booster? Therefore this would not apply. You cannot tell me that with the NCAA already having a presence on campus that UT would be stupid enough to do something where their greatest defense would be whataboutism. Tosh wash I say, tosh wash!

NCAA has arbitrarily applyied the “booster” tag to Spyre. That’s part of the rub here. No consistency from NCAA on how they apply and enforce rules.

Or even investigate for that matter. They selectively sniff where they want to or are told to. There is an agenda at play beyond protecting student athletes. Until that is stripped they are toxic and can't be trusted.

UT has been tagged a rogue program and a lot of media and rival schools have worked hard to perpetuate that. UT's high-profile decade of dysfunction-- from Kiffin to the end of Pruitt-- made UT look poorly run with a lack of leadership control. The Bruce, Schiano and Pruitt debacles played right into the narrative of lawless UT. Add to that, our long-standing rivals are favored programs that benefit from painting UT programs as renegade. Our rivals turn us in every chance they get, in all the major sports. So the NCAA came after UT in MBB, football, now baseball with Tony V. It snowballed, and the NCAA seems determined to hit UT with LOIC-- the height of irony since UT is now over-compliant.

Hey @LA Vol, or perhaps anyone with insight, I’m listening to the GoVols247 podcast on all this mess. Wes and the gang seem to think that if the NCAA is going to continue down this path, that means they probably have something on Tennessee that we are unaware of, we being the public. They said if they do, most likely we will see it leaked to the media in the next day or so. With Danny‘s comment today, is something about to be dropped and he’s wanting to steal the narrative? Or was that White just being a bad ass?

Hey @LA Vol, or perhaps anyone with insight, I’m listening to the GoVols247 podcast on all this mess. Wes and the gang seem to think that if the NCAA is going to continue down this path, that means they probably have something on Tennessee that we are unaware of, we being the public. Everyone is saying they found nothing. The feeble few suckling at the teat of the NCAA are only citing Spyre, Nico, and the jet. Mars already made that public as can be. In the end some few corrupt, naive, or holier than though will beat a drum that what spyre was doing was impermissible. Most of the educated detractors have only stated we were too public. In the end the line is drawn in the town square.

What Donde, Mars, White, and the TN AG have all done is told the the world that those without sin should pickup the first stone. As it was in the Bible, the crowd is very, very, very, silent.

Looking backwards from the NCAA prospective, this mess was entirely preventable.

If they would have let players in the past in the past profit off their NIL (commercials, jerseys, autographs, etc.) and forced schools to issue stipends via revenue sharing for member schools with X about of revenue from TV/ticket sells. Oh, and forget about insane level three type violations that make everyone laugh at your pettiness and not take your authority seriously.
