Texas A&M attacked Tennessee weakest link on defense, who is Tennessee's best player on offense.

Josiah should've guarded Radford on Defense.

Still nobody could guard Wade Taylor.

A&M‘s guards looked quicker than Vols regardless of who was matched up with them. Got beat off the dribble a ton.

During their 90's runs the Braves were always heralded about their business like approach. Granted they won, one title; never seemed to carry the 100 win momentum to postseason.

We have too much of that, iyam. Like the fire burned out after coRUPPt win.

I think you have to have a top 50 scorer who can bully in the paint. Playing defense is great, but, you have to play O. And we arent dynamic enough to have 1 guy step up.

They looked quicker because they were absolutely locked in for this game. TAMU hates Barnes. They treated this game the same way we treat TSIO and the Florida game in football. Our guys looked lost from the very start even before A&M built a big lead. They couldn't get anything to hit and were timid and tenative in everything they did particularly early on.

Would mean the current #1 team in country won’t have a chance at winning a NC.

Unlikely anyway imo. Nobody really repeats.

I didn’t see timidity. I saw guys trying to execute the game plan of pushing the pace but playing too fast. The ole “be quick but don’t hurry” thing. Looked hurried. Can happen when you’re trying to force pace but the other team is making buckets.

A&M defense deserves credit.

The only complaint I have from last night (I didn't have a good feeling we'd win since A&M is sneaky good) is not trying to do something different on D. With the way they were shooting a zone could have been even worse, but just giving them a different looking and seeing if it changed anything in the game.

I just dont see a fair whistle in Tuscaloosa.

But on the other hand........5 losses after being pre season favorites is pretty bad.
It's actually been predicted (analytics) since a month ago we weren't the favorite to win the SEC (I believe we had the 3rd best odds) BECAUSE of imbalanced scheduling year-to-year.

There's a difference between a power ranking and predicting where folks will finish. See: Missouri football 2024. Journalists just say who the best team is, they're not deep diving into schedule dynamics to statistically predict where teams will finish.

And yet we still have every shot to do so. But it wouldn't be an upset if we failed to win the SEC (from day one). It would be an upset if we did, against the field.

Yep. I mean we finish out the season with TAMU, AU, Bama, SC and UK. There is a good possibility we lose either 4 of those or all of them.
You have said over and over and over again that we are not consistent. But, you think we are going to be consistently bad enough to lost five in a row, including three at home. Alrighty then.

We pushed too hard later, imo. But the very start when things just wouldn't hit, I thought we looked very unsure.

Ark should've been good this season but hasn't been. They blame the love triangle but there's prob. much more than that going on (if that's even true - was that ever confirmed?)
I have no idea if it's true or not. Just saw lots of people talking about it.

I hope we can beat them but we seem to have trouble in their arena

good possibility? 🤣🤣I'll take that bet.

I'll even hand you a free bit of margin and give you 50/50, well below "good possibility".

So a 1:1 bet we lose 4+ of our last 5 games? So if we win 2 of the 5, you lose.

Name your sizing. I'll start the bidding at 1k.

SC plays at AUB, Ole Miss, A&M, Miss St and has to play a hot FL team and UT @ home.

Bama has to play @ Ole Miss, UK. Still have to play FL twice. And UT, & A&M on at home.

AUB prob has easiest remaining schedule but still have SC and UK back to back and also go on the road to UT.

Pretty wide open still.
