DeBoer’s inaugural coaching staff includes:

  • Kane Wommack (defensive coordinator/linebackers)
  • Nick Sheridan (offensive coordinator)
  • Freddie Roach (assistant head coach/defensive line)
  • Maurice Linguist (defensive backs/co-defensive coordinator)
  • Colin Hitschler (defensive backs/co-defensive coordinator)
  • JaMarcus Shephard (wide receivers)
  • Chris Kapilovic (offensive line)
  • Bryan Ellis (tight ends)
  • Robert Gillespie (running backs/assistant head coach)
How do you think their fan base feels about these "big names" ?
Bama fans...not great.

But tbh Deboer is more like Heupel than most other SEC HCs.

Heupel dgaf about household name hires or retreads. He wants elite fit and development.

If fans like retreads and "good ole boy" hires, they should check out some losing NFL franchises...or UT the last 12 years before Hype came along to save us.

I just don't see Bama fans understanding or being patient. Insanely unreasonable expectations and pressure could be Deboer's downfall, not himself. I could see a decision being made as early as year 2 if things are even a bit sideways.

Bro they are near to tears on a stream I am listening to. Literally calling for a lock on when coaches can leave.

But DeBoer is losing the guys he brought in weeks ago not years. Grubb and Inge are two.

That Freddie Roach is a versatile dude…assistant head coach/defensive line coach in college football and a world class boxing trainer.

Bama fragility is about to hit an all-time high when they see full scope of what every other program has had to deal with the last 15 years.

They're not special and are now remembering that (or just realizing it for the young silver spooners).

I may have missed it but I didn't see posted Donde dancing and celebrating with students after our last basketball game. I love it!

ESPN included it in their game highlights -- with favorable comments -- at 1:15.

P.S. Suck it, NCAA.

The question was about the "big names" on the staff (tongue in cheek)

Not about losing 2 of them. Fwiw

I think Bama fans hate losing staff to anyone, especially us. Their entitled bubble under Saban indoctrinated them into believing there was no better place than....Tuscaloosa, Alabama ???? 😅🤣🤣

Right. Freddie Roach is an excellent coach and so is Kane Wommack, although he's moving WAY up in competition and exposure level. Wish Ellis was the QB coach since his at Ga. Southern regularly threw the ball to the wrong team.

All position coaches are important, but let's be honest. How many of us, without looking them up, can name more than 1 or 2 position coaches for other CFB teams. Most "fans" can't even name our position coaches on our team. This guy will do just fine.
