Why do coaches make 4th and inches so complicated?

I believe the biggest problem with our offense is 3rd down efficiency...and it's not going to be an easy fix.

I haven't done a chattanoogavol type breakdown of all the 3rd down plays so far this year, but the problem is that there is no one big reason for the crappy 3rd down efficiency...some failed plays have been bad play calls, some have been bad passes, some are drops on good passes, some are bad blocking, some are down and distance issues because of pre-snap penalties getting us way behind schedule...all those things are our fault.

The others are just good defense being played, and some are crooked cheating officials screwing us completely over..

It would be an easy fix if it was just a couple of things...but it isn't..it is a multitude of different things....like Murphys Law running wild.

It is a daunting problem for sure.

It really comes back to the Line. Milton having time to throw changes a lot of that.

I think a part of our struggles in these cupcake games is that we are trying to let Joe work on his down field throws. We know the game is in hand so we try and work on his accuracy of the deep ball. Next week is going to be a dog fight…
