That was never a disagreement. I loved Bruce Pearl. But things come and go and the constant Bruce reminders were the problem. Some people probably lost some positivity toward Bruce because of how much he was talked about the last 12 years, and that’s not fair to him. But I hope this finally puts this all to bed. Rick Barnes is a hell of a coach, and I’m glad he’s at UT.

Elite Eight was always the measuring stick. There were times this year when I didn't think it likely. But the team learned each other and played into their roles. They did what they needed to do to get to the this point and that was the goal....... From there anything can happen.


With that said the story isn't over. We grind. We get better, we have down nights but more often than not we find a way. Big challenge coming........ But they are saying the exact same thing.

Yes, Barnes has now accomplished more. But Bruce is the one that established that TN could compete in basketball

He should. He had something special here, and he messed it up. I've been angry at Bruce Pearl ever since he brought scandal on my university. But credit where credit is due, he did something special here. And he still talks highly of Tennessee and Rick Barnes. So kudos to him for that.
