Its not the people that like Barnes that im calling fan boys..... Its the ones that try to act like Barnes is the only one thats ever been successful here.

Maybe that happens in the Basketball Forum (which I never go in really) but it doesn't here that I've seen. In fact, I usually see more "But what about Bruce" when someone praises Barnes and he's not even our coach anymore.

Bruce deserves all the credit in the world for bringing this program into the modern era and making it relevant. He was a really good coach and does genuinely love Tennessee, even now. But there has been an argument for a while now, and certainly after tonight that Barnes was at least his equal here. Just as good a coach and at least as successful here. So, of course people jump to give Barnes credit.

One doesn't have to be run down to praise the other, they are both great Tennessee coaches.

I know a lot don’t like Pearl, but seeing him give a thumbs up and saying “How bout them Vols!” will hopefully be a sense of closure. Now that we’ve made it back to the ELITE 8.

He seemed genuinely happy for us. I totally agree

That’s just not true. Bruce got pounded into this forum time after time. Just like right now. Just leave it alone and enjoy tonight.

And if you want to call me a “fan boy” for being a fan of my coach, then you got me. Bruce Pearl is not the coach at UT.

The worst is when we actually play the team he coaches and they're openly praising him will dissing our own coach. Not sure how any true Tennessee fan can do that. Bruce did something special here, but it came down because of his actions as well. This is Rick Barnes time. He's our coach. And our team is ALWAYS our team.
