Omg....Fields did some amazing things...in college. In the playoffs against Clemson with every throw causing pain, he willed a win. And we saw that last season that he's still a cheat code with his legs...moreso than Mahomes. You're easily impressed with party tricks. It's MENTALITY that seperates the greats from the merely good or mediocre.
That's a stretch considering Mahomes did nothing of significance in his college career.K...we disagree. I see a ton of physical talent but nowhere near the alpha winner that is Mahomes.
Because the ORIGINAL SUBJECT was who I preferred if my team was pursuing. I don't see a different creature than Fields. That he can flick the ball forward with one thumb while the other one's up his butt doesn't factor with me like it does with you.Omg....
As I have already stated
I'm not saying he has the same mentality as Mahomes or that he will be the next Mahomes
I'm just pointing out, like thousands or millions of other people that he PLAYS like him. The way he physically moves around and throws the ball. It is very similar to Mahomes. Why do you keep bringing up mentality?
He played at TEXAS TECH after being a 3 star recruit. Put him in LA with a decent cast and that rubber band isn't as challenged. That's a stretch considering Mahomes did nothing of significance in his college career.
I've seen USC play twice this year. I actually think they have a very similar team as us, outside of QB. Shaky on defense and at the skill positions. Mediocre Oline. But Caleb Williams just consistently makes plays for them.
The showmanship doesn't translate well into the NFL...Johnny Manziel will attest to that...Because the ORIGINAL SUBJECT was who I preferred if my team was pursuing. Okay if you think he will fail like Fields that's fine, but their play style is obviously different.Because the ORIGINAL SUBJECT was who I preferred if my team was pursuing. I don't think it's as obvious as you. I think we'd be drafting basically the same guy. Not convinced that Maye is generational. But I have no power or say in the situation...so go Bears.Okay if you think he will fail like Fields that's fine, but their play style is obviously different.
But if you want your bears to pass on him that's on you. There doesn't seem to be issues with Williams in the processing, reacting category either. Maybe he isn't clutch, but we shall see.
Fields isn't that much better or worse than either. I think they should worry about getting a decent team built instead of wasting more top picks on yet another QB. Get a great OL and see if fields looks good. If not, whatever new qb will have a better chance of success.I don't think it's as obvious as you. I think we'd be drafting basically the same guy. Hell some draft experts put Riley Leonard of Duke just below Williams and Maye ...you had. Chance to see him yet I missed Clemson game??I don't think it's as obvious as you. Ideally, those two first rounders in the next draft would be addressing edge rusher and WR. But if you don’t have the answer at QB, you don’t pass on a potential franchise at the position. This season is the beta test if there’s anything there to work with. If not, it’s malpractice to continue in that direction. I think Getsy’s gone sooner rather than later and Flus is on short notice. Poles knows there’s no padding after that.Fields isn't that much better or worse than either.
