It's a jump. I think DW would do it though. He's hired from lower divisions. . . but he was at a smaller school when he did it (Buffalo). He hired Scott Frost? Where was Frost coaching before UCF? . . edit: OC at Oregon, no HC experience.

TBH, we all were scratching our head when Heupel was hired as well.

Enk, do me a huge favor, bud...please...it irks me to no end. I've tried, but haven't been able to make it work, but will you please go there and change Heupel and Barnes' profile pics? Two good pics of them coaching the Vols, you know.

I’m going to say there are probably a lot of coaches that look at Kellie’s record, challenges with injuries, lack of NIL and the fact that DW dumped her after a decent year and say that is a pretty short leash and not a lot of loyalty. Maybe a pass on that job. Good. The weak ones filter...

NC St. might be the most unimpressive team I've seen in a Final Four.

But they seem to find a way somehow and are in-range.


The swiping method on Edey seems to be working as of late. Burns just looks too short to hold him off.

State needs alligator blood the 2nd half. Just keep it close and hope shots fall late and theirs don't.

Sad to watch the commentators talking NC St shooting floaters rather than plowing into the paint with Edey as a good strategy.

Exactly what we tried early and executed perfectly...except for hitting the short jumpers. Aidoo and ZZ just whiffed on them. We had the plan, just left the opportunities on the table.

It's behind us, but sucks to think we could be here.

It IS a massive jump!

However, as you probably well know, Marshall ladies basketball has been horrible its entire existence...not just down the last decade or so, terrible since the gals have been playing basketball there, beginning in 1969...an overall losing record. Their last four HC had a combined overall record of 341-425...all had a losing record. They had not been to the tournament since 1997, had not won their conference tourney since that year, and had not won the conference regular season championship since 1989. Stephens took a flamethrower to all of that in just one season...winning both conference championships, and went to the Dance.

As you said, a BIG, heck of a jump...she is nothing but a winner, however. I'm curious if it's her, if it's a done deal. She wouldn't have been my first choice, but she's a really good choice, imo.
